  2. Thanks guys... It's been a while since I been on this forum. Haven't touched the car except to drive it. Finally have some time so will be looking at the above issues. Appreciate the help.
  3. Hello, Been a member here a long time, but haven't posted much. I just purchased a '28 Ford Model A. . I first started looking at this car in 2009 and was able to buy it off of the family just last month. It was an AACA Senior National First Prize winner in 1983. The car has deteriorated some what, but still overall it's in great condition. The car is all original (not modified), so still 6 volt, and all the '28 stuff still correct. Hopefully you guys can answer some questions for me: 1. I just replaced the headlight bulbs with 2 Bulb Type - 6 Volt - Double Contact - 32-50 Candle Power. Now when I turn on the headlights the ammeter pegs discharge and the car will sputter and not want to run. What bulbs can I use that will correct this issue? 2. The key does nothing. Car will run with it in off position. It's original to the car. Can this be rebuilt and who does this type of work, is it worth keeping original? Or is a repro better? 3. The nickel plating on the radiator and headlights is dull. What can be used to polish this with out buffing through the plating? 4. The horn works but doesn't always give the full ahooga. Is there a cleanup trick for this to get it to work smoothly? I may have more question but that's all I can think of right now. Thanks Vinnie
  4. That is what I thought as well... I didn't think it would be two T beds welded together for production from Ford. So I imagine this bed was made up at some point in the trucks life.
  5. Hello All, I recently spoke to a fellow selling a '29 Ford Model AA and it has the pickup style (express) bed on it. While talking to him he mentioned that the truck bed was actually two Model T beds welded together to make the full size bed... and said it was that way from the factory. I am curious to know if that is true and that the 29's would have had Model T beds from the factory for the express bed? Also if that is the case does that mean that it would not have the wheel well fender indents on the outside where the fenders mount? Just need to know how the truck would have come from the factory? It has the full running boards and rear fenders. I have only seen pictures so cannot really tell the full details of the bed. thanks Vince
  6. Is this the same car that just sold at Barrett Jackson?
  7. Thanks for all the replies. You guys certainly know your Buicks. It was a car that ended on Ebay last weekend. The owner didn't feel the bidder would come through. Here is the auction if you want to look it over... Ebay Auction for Skylark The auction number is 230038722265 in case the link does not work. I may hold out for a mustang convertible (my first love)... but the buick is very nice looking and they seem to be much less expensive to purchase. Anyway, if you guys want to check out the car and see what you think. Any opinions, comments appreciated! Vince
  8. Hello, I am very new to this forum and Buicks. Originally I was looking for mustang convertible, but always loved the 64-65 skylarks. Just saw what looked like a nice 64 Skylark conv. Owner wants 12.5k firm. What are these cars going for these days... Here is some info. Condition looks very nice. Has 340-4 in the valve cover (air cleaner is aftermarket). 2 speed tranny, column shift. Bucket seats. red with white top. VIN - 3K7015813 Data Plate Any help would be appreciated.
