  1. I am putting the final touches on the 1948 Chrysler Windsor and have a metal trim panel that I don't know where it goes. It is about 15" long. Thanks in advance for your help. Dale
  2. I still have a pipe bender(going on 42 years old) at my shop, but its use has dropped off considerably in the last 10-15 years. Custom exhaust demand is down due to regulations and cost, and the newer vehicles have more flanges, brackets and such on them that makes it hard bend and weld everything on in the same spot. Our machine has bent many an exhaust system, stock and custom in the years that I have been there. My bender used a card system that gave you measurements for each bend and rotation degrees as well as amount of bend. Worked well for years but I don't think they have new cards for the newer vehicles. My problem now is getting pipe as my supplier has went out of business, just closed the doors. Wish I would have known so I could have bought a supply of pipe and clamps.
  3. Charlie, Feel free to post a few pictures of the Crosley here if you want. As for someone to do the bodywork, I don't have time to do it but I will put the word out and see what I can come up with.
  4. Sorry for your loss Dave. Prayers for your family.
  5. Matt, if you feel comfortable with the price and condition of the ebay manifolds, get them. I would not get them ceramic coated though, chance of getting lost or broke... Just powder coat them. It will save you a lot of grief and we all know you have had more than your fair share. Keep with your plan!!!
  6. I don't think that was a Hershey sweatshirt. I believe it was sold by the AACA National. I have one of those, but it is well used, I think I bought it when I went to Carlisle and it was colder than I thought it would be and I bought it to keep me warm...
  7. Getting back to the 1948 Chrysler Windsor brakes. I got new shoes, wheel cylinders and have been installing them when I get time at the shop. I found out that someone has changed a spring on the rear drivers side with a incorrect spring. And the front driver side is missing both springs, someone had it apart and started breaking things! It is getting closer to being done though.
  8. One of my orphans is a 1929 Hupmobile Century 8. I bought it from my dad who bought it back in the late 60's. I remember helping him restore it when I was a little boy! Other orphans that I have, that are later makes, are Crosley's, 8 of them.
  9. That's the way it should be. Look at the grill area on the car.
  10. If you are interested in it, I would come up with a price that you are comfortable with and make her an offer. To let it go to auction could be good or bad, could get it for a bargain price, or two fools could bid it up past the asking price now! Looks like it is fairly complete and in great shape. If it were closer to me I would be making an offer and bringing it home. Looks like a fun project and one that would look good going down the road when finished!
  11. I'm with West on this one, if the price is right and you can do a lot of the work yourself, jump in and have fun. Too many people have cost over hobby. If you enjoy it, do it.
  12. More importantly, they asked the owner! How many times do they just take points off without knowing and asking? PS. I was a judge for a while...
  13. Yes, sales brochures that show interiors and details, might get lucky with a picture of the shifter handle.
  14. Wouldn't period sales literature show the shifter handle as an option? Try asking the AACA Library for documents.
  15. Crosley Club get together at Hershey. Fun times and good food!
  16. Matt, Somewhere on AACA Facebook page is a video of the Mercer being started.
  17. It was a great Hershey!! Good sales on Tuesday and fun walking and buying in the fields the rest of the week! 😂 Thanks to all the Hershey members and volunteers!
