Sorry to see her leave your garage, Victor😥 but happy for the new owners. A lot of time and love went into her restoration. Always "coveted" your MC's headlights!

You are correct. There is a misleading drawing on what the '37 Dodge truck dash looks like in one of the books. I think it is in one of Don Bunn's books on the the restoration of Dodge trucks. The drawing shows the dash of what appears to be a 1936 truck. I'll give you advanced warning that the windshield crank, window cranks, door handles and front grill parts are extremely difficult to find and if found can be very expensive. The hubcaps are also hard to find as they are not being reproduced. It looks like your tailgate may be in good shape. That is good as they are hard to replace. Measure your block length. It should be the longer 25" block that was used in the '37 and '38 Dodge MC and RC. The longer length allows you to drop in a 265 CI engine without any major modifications (the original block has a displacement of 218). Engine parts are much easier to find. The newer 25" blocks have provisions for full flow oil filters. Overdrives and 5 speed T-5's can be substituted for the 3 speed. Kits are available for redoing the interior.

The dash in your photo of the 1937 MC is correct for both the 1937 MC and the 1937 RC. The 1937 and 38 dashes were identical as were the cab, fenders bed and engine. The main difference between the two years were changes in the grill and hood side panels. The original engine block would have the letters T38 xxxxx on the side boss located on the upper left hand corner of the ignition side of the block by the water pump and just below the head.

Yes, I believe that all 36, 37 and 38 Dodge and Plymouth 1/2 ton pickup fenders (and most other sheet metal parts) are interchangeable. I believe that the dash on the 37 and 38's is different from the 36's. The engine blocks on the 37 and 38 Dodge 1/2 ton trucks are 25" the blocks on the 37 abd 38 Plymouth PT's are 23".

Please reread what I said. I will rephrase..I believe Dodge 1/2 ton truck fenders and Plymouth 1/2 ton truck fenders are interchangeable with each other...They do not interchange with Dodge/Plymouth Cars.

I am pretty sure that 1937-38 Dodge car fenders will not fit 1937-38 Dodge trucks. 1937-38 Plymouth pickup fenders will fit.

My guess is that you'd have to swap the whole rear axle. It would probably be more productive to put in an overdrive or a t5 5 speed.

Beautiful truck, Joe. After you get the photo thing worked out, I'd like to see some shots of the engine compartment. My 1937 MC came with a 3.9 rear axle ratio. I was able to swap in a 1940 Chrysler Windsor 3.54 third member into my rear end. To me, the best possible solution is to add an overdrive or put in a T5 transmission. George Asche sells refurbished MOPAR overdrives.

What a beautiful truck!

Anyone know where I can get some instrument panel labels for my 1937 drawer type knobs? The old ones wore off years ago. The attachments, pulled from the net, are samples of the font and gold colored lettering that I am looking for. Labels include: CHOKE, PANEL LIGHT, HEADLIGHT, THROTTLE Thanks

The center of the grill is chromed pot metal. The side slots are painted silver. I have seen sides of the grill painted silver with a chrome edge on the front. Here are some photos of '37 grills.

Thanks for listing other sources to check out. Andy, and Kanter want $95 for the joint that I need. Would like to find something cheaper than that. -

Thanks for the photo Bob and to everyone else who responded. I do have the wrong U joints and straps. Bernbaum lists the correct ones that fit 40-54 Chrysler 6 and 53 Desoto 6. Kind of pricey at $95
