  1. Bob, welcome to the wonderful world of TC Maserati ownership. I bet you do get some looks up there where you are. Don't worry, you did not come off looking like an ass! Just want you to know you have an automatic following of friends when you join here. Now who needs a headlight? I got em, come and get them. Jasper 256-777-0844 mishunaire@aol.com

Even the 1500 dollar opening bid got no action on the black one that needed paint, leather, lien sale title work, had 160,000 miles, lack of photos or info on the softtop and had been sitting for over 2 years. Sheesh! A LeBaron conv with those issues wouldn't even get $300. </div></div> I took a client to an antique auction once with a 40 to 50k early 1900's Stickley grandfather clock in it. He bid $323,000 on it, and did not get it. He and I went out to lunch after the bidding frenzy and I asked him if he had lost his everlovin mind!? He said, look you have to understand I do 1.5 million a day in my business and what I was bidding was about 2 hours of 1 of my days. So? I guess it is all relative. If a guy just bought a $500,000 muscle car at B J and his girlfriend or wife said I sure do like that little Red Maserati, he says no problem, I will just get that little cutie for you. You sweet thing you. Wheeeew! that was easy and for only $8,500 plus buyers premium. Could have been a lot worse if she had seen that 57 TBird with the cute portholes. ha ha I did notice some bigger prices on some TC's on ebay in the last week or so. Could it be called a trend? Just my 2 cents, Jasper

  4. Of course, I have seen them listed and sold for from $150 to $1500 each. They are one of the rarest items to find a good one. They are one of the reasons I started collecting these crazy cars. I had seen a young man try to get $1750 for his running TC needing brake repairs and no one wanted it. He ended up parting it out and had $3500 in his pocket and almost a 1/2 car left over. I have always thought that was crazy. In my opinion it depend if I need one or am selling one. ha ha Complete lights should be $500 up depending on good to excellant condition. I usually do not sell just the head light lense, so not sure how to price one of those. I will say that I have paid 75 to 150 for ones with bb pings in them, to have for spares. I think Lou's pricing is about right if we are talking about just the lense. Also remember the passenger sides are more rare in good cond. since those are the ones that usually get damage. In the olden days, I would guess that most of the car parts would have come from wrecks and since so many wrecks were front end damage, whoops, there goes the headlights. My 2 cents, Jasper PS When have you ever seen a TC owner or collector that was SANE? HMMMMMM?

We just need to be sure the ones they see are some of the better ones. That will help all of our values on all of our cars. Now becomes the problem, before this happens how many do we need to be sure we have enough? Before the price spike? The few I have sold, I have at times wanted back. That is why I am terrified to sell 2 of my 16 valve models, when would I be able to get them back and at what price? I am thinking heavy on it though. I have 1 or 2 more I would like I am not allowed to buy anymore without selling one or two. Hey wait a minute, I have parts cars, if I sell one or two of those, then I would be ok. ha ha You can usually find a 16 valve models if you try real hard. The prices are still reasonable, in my opinion. Ebay seems to be heading north as far as prices go, which is nice to see. I don't know why, ha ha it is just nice to see. What day or night did the red TC go thru Barrett Jacksons? Jasper

At least that is what I keep telling my dear sweet wife. Is she watching this, what was that? WHEW! I must be getting parinoid in my old age. There it is, don't have to go looking and it is in california. DUH! I would tell her if it was anywhere off long distance, it was not to be, but when it is sooooo close it is a SIGN! We have your room ready just in case. And don't have to bring a masi with you we got plenty for you. hahahahahahah Jasper

  20. Why don't you contact Larry AT www.TC parts. I know he picked up a yellow/black 16V car two weeks ago that was only 25 miles from my house May have been an 89 car though, not sure... Alan Alan, as you probably know, I am trying to keep up with or place the other 3 yellow/black/black california 16 valves cars. Since this one was 25 miles away was it one of the other Cali cars? Thanks & say hey, Jasper

I'm going to call your wife on you. Back away from that computer. Now we have it Tim, missing 11 from 1990 column for the yellow/bl/bl 49 state cars. So I get to keep my Rarity awards. Whewwwww!!!! Tell um Jasper says Hey!!!!
  22. If there were 11 U.S. Yellow/Black/Black made in 1990, which would seem to make it right, since that is how many triple blacks,red/black/black, & white/black/black cars they show for the 49 states in 1990. Ah ha!, I have figured out the descrepancy, they show 11 Yellow/Black/Black 16 valve cars in the 49 state catagory for 1989 and they did not make black interior in 1989. They must have just put the 11 number in the wrong column. Do I win a prize? Hmmmm? Jasper!

The color split for these cars seems to have been pretty even for all 3 years except for red and cabernet. </div></div> Oh no, don't tell me that there are 14 california yellow/black/black 16 valves made? Then I owe back some awards for rarest model at some TC events. YIPES! Then I have to go out looking for another 16 valve myself that is rarer. Move over here I come. HA HA Personally I think that they left some U.S. Yellow/black/black 16 valves off the 1990 color breakdowns. It has none listed and I find that awfully unlikely with them making 4 california cars in that color combo. I really think we need to do a speadsheet on all the 16 valve models still running out there. I will be glad to tackle it if I can get some feed back on it. I have been thinking of starting a thread with that subject. What you think? Lets see if we can get the #'s figured out. Jasper

Wouldn't be sporting wouldn't you agree?? Anyway, my Brother is a car guy too but his tastes run more twards supercharged Mustangs and Ford trucks but slowly over the last few years, he has been warming up to my TC. That and after he had a little drive in the 'worlds fastest TC' recently, he REALLY warmed up to the idea of a project TC So the lightly crumpled, running TC you bought ten days ago would have been the perfect starter TC for him. If we don't attract new/younger members to our little hobby, it will wither and die. There are still plenty of original owners out there but how many of them are under 60, or 70, or 80?
