I am the third owner, and I was told by the mechanic that sold it to me for one of his customers, that the previous owner whom he did work for, left the car setting most of the time. I spoke with a service guy at the local Dodge dealer and he told me that it sounds like the tranny is in "limp mode" where it stays in 2nd gear until it can be serviced. I will send some photos later today. </div></div> Thanks, We are just north of you an hour or two. If you will get me some pics of the interior I may be interested and anyway will be glad to help you get it to it's next home. Send pics to mishunaire@aol.com Thanks, Jasper
  2. We just dropped off the 90 model triple black 6 cyl to the mechanic for parting out. Most body parts are rusty but the interior parts look real good. The only thing missing now is the leather gauge cover. The seats are very useable as is most any of the other interior parts. The engine runs and the transmission shifts good if anybody needs those. The mileage is around 150,000 on the car. The wheels and tires are good and most all the lenses are good on the outside. We have already pulled the headlights and they will only be available as complete units with cornering lenses, frames, and top covers. They are not ridiculous but are not steals either. Will be glad to offer bargains on all package deals. Because of the time dealing with the little parts, minimum price on any order will be $25, but can throw in more than 1 item if you need more small stuff. I would like to send smaller items using priority boxes and there will not be any charge for packing. Let me know what you may need early while it is still all here and together. You may email me at mishunaire@aol.com or send a PM to this forum. We really enjoy offers as long as reasonable since I do not have a clue on most of the small stuff, or any stuff as far as that goes. I want to offer real bargains for anyone that needs stuff, so let us know how we can put a smile on your face and help you enjoy these fine Automobiles more. Thanks for looking, & Ya'll Come! Jasper

Not like the Yellow Rose of 16 valves that is on Ebay right now. I am hoping you all will remember the guy in the Movie "Ferris Buelers Day Off". Well in that wonderful movie that most of us guys mainly dreamed about driving that Ferarri like these two parking attendants were driving the car over hills with air showing underneath the car, and having the time of their & most of our lives. Well I have a 42 year old Brother that thinks he is 16 and I handed the keys to him and said go out and blow the soot out of this Maserati, thinking I would not be getting anything but keys back. Well he drove it for a few days and when he brought it back it would flat Fly. Burn rubber through the rpms all the way thru third and bark em in 4th. Most people that know me, know that car as the $50 RED MASSERATI, that Tim found for me and I have threatened to cut him a few times over me buying that uh well I don't want to cuss on this here forum so I will leave it at that. I want everybody to know that the Yellow Rose never hadhim behind the wheel so no worries and she is very fast but we don't run her like that. She will amaze you but that RED 50 dollar car was something else. It has moved on to another home now. So Tim that is what Alan is speaking of. Rick said the yellow car was faster, he worked on that one. ha ha Alan says the red one was faster, and as much as I usually agree with anything Rick tells me about these cars, I have to give the big nod to Alan on this, but I think that is only because Rick did not have much time in the red one and his DAD was with him. Now son, no sense in driving that way. ha ha Manny, I am only kidding, I really think he would be like faster faster!. That thing was WICKED! It did not even have the updated computer on it. I was scared of I put the computer on it, I would like it too much and have to keep it, and that color was not my cup of tea. If I would had kept that one I was going to have to change the color and everybody was going to throw something at me. Heavy! I will definately take 89TV-16V's bet on the yellow car not being ended early. It is doing well and other than someone instant purchasing it, it will be on to the end. So it is buyable, don't wait till the last minute. Bid often, but just bid. thanks, Jasper

  9. *** Hey guys,it is a very nice Maserati but is not real low miles unless you consider 7500 miles a year real low. ***Lou, it was hiding from you.Uh oh, LOU is looking for me, I better hide! You sure you found it? It was hid pretty good in the Lebaron section! I think your top may be coming to Asheville on wednesday this coming week. *** 89TC-16V where you been with award winning 5 speed in like NICE cond. going for $5500? Oh yea I forgot you got to that white one before I got there. ha ha And I don't want no fighting between you and you know lou, I mean Who! Now that is funny, I don't care who you are. Also 89tc would you please call me when you think 1 of the 5 speeds you find is about $100 to much? I will send you $250 just for your trouble. *** Lets have a friendly wager and bet it gets higher than $6500? That is the # I say it beats. Whats everyones #? I want Rick Diogo's guess of what he thinks it will bring? I hope it is higher than my guestimate. Cmon what is everybody's guess. Closest guess gets one of those little plastic caps that are always missing from the ends of the chrome trim. Ok make it two of them both sides. Now that is a serious bet. *** Sorry for the tounge and cheek guys but it is definitely all in fun and I have been traveling all day in a airplane stuck in the middle seat and the ones that know me, I was getting a little giddy closed up like that. So thanks for letting me purge before I put my head down on a pillow in the finest Resort in the free world. THE GROVE PARK INN for those who don't know, in Asheville NC. ***Mad Bo, sorry I left you out of the foray, but you were so nice with your post on my WOO WOO story, I couldn't think of anything to get you with, oh yea, I could put all the parts you are getting in the back seat of this Lebaron, Dang, that is right, this Lebaron don't have no back seat. Ok I could put them in the trunk and put the top caddy in the front seat. Yea that will work. I should have put into the ad that for the BUY IT NOW price, you could load up all the parts you needed if they would fit in the car. Seriously, if anybody has any questions about the car, call me or email me. It is a very special one! More to come. Thanks, Jasper 256-777-0844 mishunaire@aol.com
  10. At least there is a few pics of our wonderful TC's on that national tv show. Trying to do my part for the recognition of our wonderful autos and the car shows up on the worst car list. I keep laughing about that. I think whoever put that car on that list was smoking some REAL STRONG STUFF. Don't Bogey the Doobie MAN! He had probably never seen one up close and dang sure never driven one. Course I have never driven an Edsel either. Tell em Jasper says HEY!
  11. Filbert, I am sure your Dad had something to do with you getting your TC, as mine did. I always hesitate to talk about the [what my wife and I call the "WOO WOO" stuff], but here goes. I thought some might enjoy it. A lot of us feel special about our cars and the Dads that taught us to love them. Well I was 37 when my Dad passed of lung cancer at 57. I always hoped there was something else out there after we leave this wonderful world, but was definitely not sure, even with faith and all. Well when Dad passed, I lost my Pop, my Father, My Papa, My Daddy, My Dad, and most importantly, My Best Friend. So that 1st Maserati of his was very special to me. When he passed, I didn't wonder about what happens after we go anymore. I knew deep down he was someplace special and waiting on me when it was my time to join him. Skip forward 14 years after he passed and before I wrote the Grundy article. my wife and I were selected for a National TV show about Crossing Over which is where the "WOO WOO" stuff comes in. We had to fly to New York and be in the TV studio by 9:00 am so we left for the airport in Fla. at around 4:30 in the morning. While we were driving one of the Masi's to the airport, I thought to myself, Pop if you want to come thru to us on the TV show, talk about the cars, the Maseratis and I will know it is you and no Fake BS. Well we get into Long Island late and get a car and tell the driver where we need to go. he says all the bridges are way backed up and no way to make it to our destination by 9:00. I said well it was fun while it lasted, he said he could try to go way up north and try a way up there to get us into the city, so long/short we arrived at the curb in front of the studio at 9:00 am on the dot. Thanks, Dad. We go in the TV studio and there are 90 people in the audience. The very first thing the star or whatever you want to call the personality is I am getting cars, not regular cars and not someone that sells cars but special cars. Lots of them. He points right at me and says does that make sense to you? I don't want to act too anxious so I say maybe? He says you do something special or unique with these cars, has your father passed, I say yes, well he says Dad likes these cars. I now know the message is for me. He turns back to me and says, I know you are going to say no to this question but did you buy the 1st car on Ebay? I of course say yes, he says that is the special one, yes? It is the one that won the awards at the 1st show we went to for Best Black Car and that is with 105,000 miles on it. So yes it is very special. He said I see one of them like 1/2 of a car, did you get one in that was 1/2 gone? I say no and he says well what I am seeing is one without the seats, & no back seats either and someone is trying to drive it and it is funny. I then say yes we took both of the seats from one of the 5 speeds and I was in there with a foot stool trying to move the dang thing around in the driveway and everyone was laughing cause I kept falling off the stool because there was nothing for me to support my back when I would push in the clutch & I was cussing up a storm which made everyone laugh that much harder. This give and take went on for around 30 to 40 minutes and he was right on with about 95% of everything he said or asked. I know to some people this is like someone saying they were wisked away by aleins on a space ship & as I said, I hesitate to talk about it, but we are all friends here so I thought some might enjoy it. As a supliment to this story about dear old dad, I was at the national TC Meet and I was wanting the entire set of back issue newsletters Karleen was going to give away at the banquet & I was willing to pay for them but wanted them right then & did not want to wait for them to be mailed so I had just told some of this story to the group at the table we were sitting at, since Rose and I had just gotten back from the taping of the show and 1 of my new friends there says YEA YEA YEA, well if you got some power or special MOJO with the other world, why don't you get them to get you those newsletters? I got a chill ran up my spine and said okey dokey. Karleen had already told me I could not win them cause I was willing to pay for a set but she said that the set would go to a new participant at the National Meet since a lot of the old timers at the event had already been getting them for years. She said since there were around 90 people there it was going to take quite a while to keep drawing member #'s for someone that was there for the 1st time, which there were only 9 of us. You know what is coming, but sure enough when she pulled the 1st number I started rising from my seat and sure enough she reads my Member # out loud & I got my wonderful newsletters, then and there. My ole buddy that had been smart alecky was still sitting there stunned when I returned to the table with my prize. So Virginia, I mean Filbet, yes your Daddy definitely had something to do with you picking out your TC. Hope you enjoyed this and don't make too much fun of ole Jasper for telling it. Jasper
  12. Filbert, thanks for the links. I love the one with the worst cars. The pic they used of the TC made our little car look drop dead gorgeous. Time will tell. I am sure people seeing that for the 1st time were going WOW look at this, shame it is made so bad. HA Check out this link. We are always trying to educate the masses. 13. Justin, we do have lights with cornering lights and ones without. We even have some pinged headlights if you want to put plastic protectors on them. Email us directly at mishunaire@aol.com Thanks, Jasper
  14. We put a few items on ebay the last couple of nights. We will still make package deals if anybody needs anything. We have sold a few of the items. We still have a good pair of headlights available if someone needs a nice pair. Complete with cornering lamps, frames, and covers. Jasper

We see a lot of range on them from ebay as you said. ghosty's response gives great valid info on these little jewels. I have always collected the lights just in case. I have only sold the drivers sides since I keep the passengers normally. I have sold the drivers for from $650 to $750 but that includes the whole kit and kaboodle. 4 peaces to include the frame, the head light, the side lamp, and the cover at the top that you take off to get to the light. I did offer a set of lights for both sides in good condition this morning for $1,000 including shipping, that I thought was a good deal. Haven't heard back yet. Will see. Thanks for the thread ghosty, it should bring some understanding to those that wonder why so much? My 2 cents, Jasper

So if you have not seen the 6 cyl. engine, I believe someone is mistaken on their listing. I saw a 4 cyl last week that quoted it had 200 hp and was an 8 valve with an automatic. They just looked something up and were mistaken. Will take a look though. That may be the rarest Maserati TC in the World, just like the white 5 speed with bordeaux int. Just kidding of course. Jasper PS it sure seems to be a '89 model with the later interior with the woodgrain look. I am sure when you see it with the hood up, you will see 4 plug wires and not 6. Just me 2 cents, Jasper PSS thanks for the listing of your 2 16 valves cars. And the one that will be gone come spring is 1 of 15 in that color combo. Yipes! The curvature is similar, the height is similar and the length is similar (each part is different length from TC). The part that would need tinkering with is the amber lower section would need to be cut off and a means of fastening to the TC fabricated to make it work. I didn't have a spare Caravan light to mess up while I had a TC to try this on so I'm not sure of how well the fit really is. Aarrgh! Did I just lower the value of TC lights??? No, by the time you paid someone for the modifications you would still have to pay the same as a real TC light. However, the possibility of a never ending supply of TC lights might be there. </div></div> ghosty, what was your opinion of the values on the lights? I do agree that if there was a close copy it would be worth fitting them to a daily driver but we have tried with the van headlights and it would take so much fabrication, it would not look the same and would be expensive. I think if someone is looking for an inexpensive lighting compromise, take one of the dinged or pinged ones and put the vinyl covers from the TC Club over it and it should be fine for daily drivers. Those should keep you around 1/2 of what a good or very good light would run you. Just my 2 cents, Jasper

I meant a spreadsheet that was being kept now of how many are still out there. There have been rumors or quesstimates of how many of the 16 valve cars have survived? It is estimated that at least 1/2 are gone to supply parts for still running ones, for racers wanting those rare heads, wrecked ones that have been sent to the crushers and boneyards. Being there were only 501 to start with, that really starts to dwindle the #'s on these little jewels. The automatics are very nice, but the 5 speeds are like different animals. The performance is unreal for a 4 cyl. 3000lb car. I had read years ago that only around 1700 of the 7300 total TC's are registered on the road today. That doesn't mean that is all that is left but just the ones that are registerred. If that # is correct which I believe it is, I suspect there are less than 1/2 of the 7301 left out there in a running complete status. I try and keep up with as many 16 valves as I can. As you can tell from the cars I own, I keep up with the 1990 models mostly. If there was a semi current spreadsheet on the 16 valves, I would love to see how many we know of out there. Most people are always nervous that someone is trying to find out where they are where they can buy them, but most of us have all we can handle now. At least that is what our Wives keep telling us. ha ha Thanks, Jasper email to mishunaire@aol.com PS Anyone wanting to help keep up with the 16 valves, send me any info you have on any and I will gladly make up a speadsheet and make it available to anyone interested. Things like year, color, int. & top color, and state or city where you saw or own it. If it was driveable or in a parts yard would be helpful also. I have all the newsletters since the inception of the TC club and the fOR SALE section is a good start for the spreadsheet but no telling if the ones that were for sale 15 years ago are still out there.

  25. There will be people better suited to tell you exact months and all but basically the '89 was available with the 4 cyl. turbo w/8 valves and a 3 speed automatic. There was also a 4 cyl 16 valve that most of us refer to as the maserati motor or the 16 valve which was acompanied with a gertrag 5 speed tanny. Colors available were yellow, red, & royal cabernet, with interior color being either ginger or bordeaux. 1990 was the last year for the 16 valve engine w/5 speed, & it was the start of the 3.0 litre v-6 and 4 speed automatic tranny. Exterior colors were red, white, black, & yellow with interior colors being either black or ginger. The final year was 1991 and they were all 6 cyl. w/4 speed automatics, althoug the final car made was a white 16 valve with bordeaux interior that was considered a 1990 model. it is a very nice color combination. Shame they did not offer that one more. Well there you go. Jasper
