  1. It's time to let this car go. I don't have enough time to enjoy the car properly. This car has been local since at least 1960s when it was stored in one of the airplane hangers at San Jose Airport before it became an international airport. After that it was stored in a small garage in the Rose Garden area of San Jose. That is where I found the car about 10-11 years ago. Since I purchased the vehicle, I have had all mechanical work done by a well known mechanic in the Airflow community. The wiring has been replaced with OE reproduction, rebuilt inline 8 cylinder flathead engine, rebuilt 3 speed manual transmission/overdrive units, braking system overhauled, fuel system overhauled, Optima 6v battery and electric fuel pump installed. This car runs, drives and handles well. It can easily do 65 mph when the overdrive is activated. The hood, grille and headlights on his car are from a 1935 model. It's unknown to me why the parts were switched as I do not see any evidence of a collision. The original 1937 model hood, grille and headlights were with the vehicle when I purchased it. This vehicle is a true survivor "barn" find. It's a true original and stock vehicle. It's so original that it was used as a guide to judge other 1937 Chrysler Airflow models during an annual Airflow meet that occurred several years ago in San Jose. I've done my best to continue with the survivor preservation. I've added a roof rack and period correct items/accessories to personalize the vehicle. These items are negotiable and are not necessarily included with the vehicle. This is your chance to own a rare, desirable and one of a kind vehicle. Local and long-distance delivery available at a negotiated rate. Will assist with nationwide and worldwide shipping. Clear title with currrent registration. Serious inquiries only please. $25,000 obo

  4. I'm selling a collection of 1920s and 1930s antique body parts. There are Chevrolet, Triumph, Chrysler and Buick parts. There are lots of front and rear fenders, some quarter panels, dash panel, cowl panel, doors, fenders, hoods and trim. Selling all as one lot. Asking $1500 for the entire lot. These parts are great for restoration, swap meet, rat rod, hot rod, jalopy, sedan, car, truck, old school, roadster projects.
  5. I pulled a dumb move today and drove into the garage with a loaded roof rack that is attached to the drip rails. Three of the four mounting points survived and I was able to fix them. However, the fourth mounting point really tore the drip rail. I'm sure that it can be repaired, but I'd prefer to find a good used drip rail, but know that might be extremely difficult. I'm going to file an insurance claim on Monday, but want to start the process as soon as possible. I plan on taking the car to a classic Jaguar restoration shop with hopes that they can repair the damage and match the patina. Also, is it true that the drip rail is just screwed onto the body? Do I have to remove the headliner to remove/install the drip rail? Lastly, does anyone sell the weatherstripping that goes inside the drip rail to cover up the screws? Any leads on 37 Airflow parts cars also greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  6. Boards are solid and primarily straight. They will require some hammer/dolly work on the edges. $500 plus shipping. May also fit 39-40 years. More pictures: 41-46 Chevy GMC Half Ton Running Boards Photos by modelking1 | Photobucket
  7. Doors are solid, but will need body work to finish. Pass side door has been cut so that the lock could be removed. The metal pieces that were cut are now missing. You'll need to have patches made. Hard to find these doors in good shape. May fit 39-40 model years. $600 plus shipping. 8. The 2012 national meet was held in my hometown this past Saturday. I used this opportunity to meet up with other Airflow owners (mainly from the West Coast), as well as have my Airflow judged. Not sure what it scored yet, but it was no show winner. However, since it is an unrestored original survivor vehicle, a few judges referenced it a couple of times when judging other 1937 Airflows. It was a great show and I enjoyed meeting other ACA members. Here are a couple of pictures. The rest could be found at this link: ACA 2012 meet San Jose CA pictures by modelking1 - Photobucket The first one below is mine. <!-- / message -->
  9. From what I learned at the recent ACA national meet this past Saturday, the drip rail was a dealer option that was correct for the vehicle. At the show this past Saturday, I saw a 37 Airflow C17 without a drip rail and a few other C17s, including mine, that have the drip rails. Either way, with or without the drip rails, is correct. Personally, I like the drip rails, but to each his own.
  10. It's bare metal. I think that I'll mount it somewhere for display for now and maybe take it out to sell at swap meets. It's still in good shape besides the break in it. Thanks for the info.
  11. You're right, it is broken. Thanks for pointing that out. It's a clean break, because I didn't even notice it, and I inspected it very carefully. Not sure what it's worth now, if anything.
  12. I have a brand new NOS 1942 Dodge D22 Ram Hood Ornament. No pitting, chipping or any kind of damage. Ready for chrome. Price is $265 shipped w/insurance.
  13. This is either a barely used or an NOS with heavy shelf wear. I do not see any kind of damage. The chrome is still good, but the gold could use some re-plating. Part is original and not a reproduction. Will fit any 1951 1952 Chevrolet car. Good for Fleetline, Custom, Coupe, Sedan, Convertible, etc. Price is $265 shipped with insurance.
  14. I'll get pictures from under/behind the instrument panel. I'll try to remove them for better pictures, but don't want to disturb more than I have to because they're fragile. I should have pictures done and posted this weekend. Thanks!
  15. I have a 37 Chrysler Airflow. I tried fixing the interior panel light switch yesterday and wasn't successful. The top is warped and not making contact. Now it doesn't work at all. The headlight switch is also on its last breath. Does anyone know where I can get good used or NOS switches, or someone that can rebuild them? I'm getting kind of desperate. Maybe someone has rebuilt theirs and can provide guidance? Thanks! Ilya
  16. I've had my 37 Airflow for a few years now and have decided that I should get the remaining missing parts. I need the following: Headlight assembly (need both - headlights, trim, etc) Window crank handle (need one) Hood ornament/handle Chrome circular trim that goes around the front bumper brackets Front bumper guards (need all three, or two - not sure how many the car came with originally) Speaker for radio Shift knob Right side hood hinge (only have the left side) Grille shroud (the one that goes between the fenders into which the grille is attached) Please email price and condition (pictures are a plus) to modelking2000 at hotmail dot com. Thanks.
  17. How do I tell whether the car is a DeLuxe series coupe or a Custom series club coupe? Also, is there a way to tell exactly what year the car is? I know that they were the same body style from 1948-1948. All of the pictures are here: http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrow...der_id=2134004 Thanks.
  18. I have no idea as to the exact year of this vehicle. They were the same from 1946-1948. The PO said that it was a 1946. However, the original owner's manual has "1947" written on the front cover. I also can't tell whether this is a DeLuxe Series Coupe or a Custom Series Club Coupe. Both were available during those years. The car is in pieces. Vehicle was running when the PO bought it. It's missing all of the running gear (front rear suspension, transmission and engine). Prior owner was going to put in suspension from a Camaro and a SBC, but gave up. The car appears to be complete otherwise. The front clip, rear fenders and front bumper are off. There are parts inside the trunk and interior. Interior is in good shape and intact. Very nice interior. Needs to be cleaned. Windows and locks are operational. I have the original keys. Body is straight. Minor rust in the left rear corner by the trunk lid and on the right rocker. Looks like some rust repairs were done on the bottom of the trunk lid and the left rocker. Would be a nice little hot-rod. No title. Comes with a bill of sale. DMV has no record of it. I only found one black and yellow (1963) CA plate. I also found the original owner's manual and an original shop manual. Car is sitting on an industrial four wheel dolly. I'd like to keep the dolly, but will let it go with the car for an additional $100. I can also deliver it within California for an additional fee. All of the pictures are here: http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrow...der_id=2134004

  20. I need to replace the original 72 year old wiring in my C17. I will be having the work done in about a month. I would like to know where I can find an OE wiring harness, or even if such a thing exists. Also, are there 12V headlight and taillight bulbs available for the 12V conversion? Thanks.
  21. It was on eBay about a month ago. I recognized the car from the pictures on the Nebraska auction site. The eBay description had the guy's phone number and I called him. We talked for a few minutes. He's not an Airflow afficionado. He went to the auction and saw the Airflow. He knew that it was a rare car and bought it to resell. From what I can tell, his reserve was above $1500. The car, in the pictures, was not restorable. It had very few useable parts left over. I told him that he'd be better off parting it out. I obtained his email address and emailed him my "want list". This was on April 14. He has yet to respond. Ilya
  22. Phil, You can't link to a picture in your post from your hard drive. The picture(s) have to be stored on a server that allows external linking for posting. I use a website called Village Photos, http://www.villagephotos.com. Use the same html tags that you've used originally, but copy/paste their URL tag. Good luck on finding parts. Airflows are not easy to find parts for. Luckily, when I purchased my 37, it was virtually 100% complete. I'm missing the front bumper guards, grille surround, the chrome front bumper bracket rings, hood ornament and the ring on the gear shifter knob. Otherwise, everything else is there. Ilya
  23. She came home today! I found registration for every year dating back to 1963. I also found one, what I believe to be, original license plate from 1937. I'm the fourth owner and the car has been local for it's entire life. The prior owner gave me correct, 1937, hood and another grille. I have no idea if the assemly or even the grille is correct for 1937. I'd like to put the correct grille assembly and hood back on, even though I like the way it looks now. Does anyone have a diagram or good pictures of what/how the grill assembly should look like and attach to the body? Is this the correct 1937 grille? Am I missing anything to attach it to the body? More pictures here: 37 Airflow I'm also looking for the left windshield window crank. Mine broke when I tried to open the windshield. Also looking for the front bumper brackets and bolts, and one more marker light glass cover. Let me know if any one has these parts and how much. I'll gladly trade up or down any non-37 parts on my car for the correct 37 parts of same quality or better. Thanks, Ilya
  24. Thanks for the additional info. That is what I figured has happened here. Perhaps the seller has the original hood in storage as he has told me of an extra hood he has stored away. I will be looking at the car in greater detail next weekend and plan to take lots of photos. Hopefully, after next weekend, I'll be able to pin-point the year, model and part differences. I wish I knew as much about the Airflows as I do about 1948-1952 Ford trucks. Thanks, Ilya
