  1. I was really surprised to see this 1924 Cadillac on ebay ... I'll have to go out and buy some lottery tickets and hope to get lucky ... ;-) I didn't know it possible for a car to survive like this for over 80 years ... with claims that everything is origional except the paint on the wheels, www tires, pinstriping and battery ... http://cgi.ebay.ca/Cadillac-Cadillac-V63...1QQcmdZViewItem
  2. It appears that the Province of Ontario still only requires seat belt use where seat belts were origionally provided in the vehicle. I really thought they would just mandate the use of seatbelts (period), and not consider any of the excemptions as they origionally appeared to be doing ... ******* Note: On a day to be named by proclamation of the Lieutenant Governor, section 106 is repealed by the Statutes of Ontario, 2006, chapter 25, section 1 and the following substituted: Seat belts Seat belt assembly must not be removed or altered 10
  3. I found this very helpfull when I was struggling to get the origional vacuum wipers on my 54 Caddy working properly ... Very simple discription with pictures and trouble shooting advise that seems to be similar to different early wiper systems ... It helped me ... since very little information is available on early Cadillac wipers, other than if you have a problem ... send it to 'XXXXX' to have the motor rebuilt ... In my particular case ... it was mainly adjusting the control linkage, cleaning and lubricating, and replacing a small piece of leather for the parking position on the motor ...
  4. Just asking for your opinion on requiring seat belts to be installed in ALL cars? Has this been an issue in your own state or province? The goverment of Ontario has proposed "One Person, One Seatbelt Legislation", probably removing the exception for cars made prior to the use of seatbelts :-( http://ogov.newswire.ca/ontario/GPOE/2006/10/31/c6946.html?lmatch=〈=_e.html After just replacing the interior on my car (1954 Cadillac), it seems that I would have to tear down the front seat to be able to attach a lap belt alone ... :-( I'm sure other antique cars would be equally as difficult to retrofi
  5. Is there an alternative when replacing a front window motors for a 1954 Caddy? Not much luck with rebuilding the motors in my area (Canada) I was hoping there may be something newer to exchange or aftermarket rather than replacing with another 50+ year old electric motor, or trying to fix the ones I have :-( Any suggestions would be appreciated ...
  6. Looking for any leads for an early Detroit, Milburn, Baker, etc. either car or small comercial vehicle probably in rough shape, barn fresh or abandoned for a project vehicle. I know they are not cheap, but obviously looking for something fairly reasonable ($$$$) to spend some time to restore. Maybe something you picked up that you haven't managed to get around to or a work in progress, by either yourself, or maybe someone you know ... dfp@sympatico.ca
