I didn't realize that there were Tent Trailers this early ...
I had always thought they were a post war invention ... late 40's - early 50's ... :eek:
From a current Ebay listing ...
Might be just the thing for someone touring with a Model T or A ... or something similar small car or those times ...
Not necessarily this particular 'camper' ... but looks like it would be a fairly easy to create a similar camper using a spare axel and styling to match your antique car ...

I've been looking at an ad for " 1925 Buick Wood Spoke Wheels " in my area, and wonder if anyone has seen any 'Buick' wheels that look like these ???
First Pic - claims to be two 1925 Buick Wood Spoke Wheels ??
Second Pic - is a download online of the correct 1925 Buick Wood Spoke Wheels ...
They must have a Buick Logo on the cap ... but they're 15" balloon style tires ... so they would have to be 1925 or later ... if they are even from a Buick :confused:
Much too heavy for a car, but did Buick have a comercial chassis that would of used these heavy wooden wheels ?
I was wondering what they are, or if they were worth anything, as they would probably look good as wall art if I can pick them up cheap enough ...

I've always wanted to find an electric vehicle to restore ... but the few that do come up are always so far away from what I could consider financially & geographically ... :mad:

Beautiful photography ... obviously professionally done ... well worth viewing in its origional format ...
This is actually a FWD car ... with large motors mounted behind the wheels / axels ...
Some of the Krieger Electrics, mainly the commercial trucks, had an additional electric motor to assist with steering ... PS ??

This is a picture of a Krieger Electric Car taken in 1906 with then Senator George P Wetmore from Rhode Island ...
One of the most impressive electrics I've seen so far !!!
Unbelievable ... I want one ... but impossible ... if any actually remain ... but certainly not in this condition ...
Origional Victorian Elegance ...
Running a close 2nd ... would be the origional 1900 Porsche Electric ...

Love It or Hate It ... there doesn't seem to be any neutral opinions ...
I put one in my 1954 Cadillac a couple of years ago, and haven't had to think of it again ...
Some of the negative comments in other threads state that at some time in the future it may fail suddenly, and that you should keep your origional points & condensor ... just in case ...
I LOVE IT ... and haven't had a problem myself ...

I agree with the above poster, it is BIG!
You can spend all day walking around trying to see everything ... so wear something comfortable and see how far your legs can carry you ...
A lot of vendors, but very mixed ...
Can be difficult to find what your looking for if its not the mainstream 50's - 60's - 70's Chev/Ford or muscle cars ...
Too much sneaks in as far as the T-shirts, antiques, jewellery, unrelated items ... IMHO
I'm only 30 minutes away, but have only bothered to go twice in the last 10 years (including last year) ... as I'm mainly looking for 50's Cadillac parts and usually do better on Ebay ...

What an opportunity for a car guy!!
A chance to pick up a new home at a distress sale price ... afterall, who else would want it?
Increase the foundation under the garage for a level driveway and use the extra height for a custom garage, with plenty of height for multi level car storage or car lift to service your cars

Until last year ... if I was in a similar situation ... I would of bought the car of my dreams and want to buried in it ...
Then we saw the results of the 1957 Belvedere buried in Tulsa ...

Barry ... if your still considering doing an electric conversion on your boat ... you may want to check out an EV site dealing with electric conversions ... most are ones that the owners have done themselves ... for cars, trucks, boats ect ...
Many do it yourself conversions at a fraction of the price ...

Is there any chance it could be some of the custom Art-Deco lighting built specially for the Chrysler Building ?
Accent/Wall/Task lighting??
Maybe even a gift or presentation piece?
Did the wiring look automotive, or could it of been commercial/residential??

If I could pick it up cheap enough, and arrange transportation, I probably would take a chance, although I realize it could probably never be restored to origional ...

I did receive a notice about being relisted through ebay this morning ...
The shipping would probably be more than the frame with the distance involved ...
I'll have to keep looking for something a little 'better' or 'closer' ...
As to the actual year, I only know that chain drive had disappeared before 1912 on the Rauch & Lang ...

What would be the best way (cheap) to ship an early 1900's rolling frame cross country ... California (LA) to Toronto?
Relatively small & light, just the side rails and wheels (rims only) assembled ... a rolling frame?
Most shippers will want a running vehicle ... :-(
I'm considering buying this rolling frame (rare), but need to find a way to get it home ...
Any advise would be appreciated ...

That may be just something to do with Dodge/Chrysler Ken ...
I lost all respect for new car dealers when they modified their recommended oil change intervals for my 2003 Caravan from 5000 km intervals to 4500 km intervals immediately after I bought the van!
I'm probably not the only customer the dealer lost trying to squeeze 1 extra oil change out of the customer over the life of the car ...

I'm sure others will know better than myself, but I was always afraid to use any heavy solvents to clean the whitewalls on my cars!
I usually just use a mild kitchen abrasive (scotch) type of pad or the S O S pad with Ajax/Comet/Old Dutch to scrub the whitewalls ...
The last couple of years ... I added a few drops of BAM ... the toilet bowl cleaner ... to cut through the crud ...
Works GREAT ... and think it's safe for the rubber on the tires ...

I had a 1938 NASH quite a few years ago that listed 50 pounds of a tar / sand mixture that was sprayed on the underbody to deaden sound in the origional sales literature ...
A very heavy coating was still on most of the underbody 50 years later ...

Maybe he just wanted to get it off his property ...
Could he of set a very realistic reserve for this parts car at $201.00
Any bidder would of become the winning bidder ...
