  4. I have 2 engines for sale, a 1941 and a 1949. The engines are both 248 cubic inch. Both are apart to some extent. The 41 was pulled from a car with less than 70 thousand miles nearly 50 years ago. The mileage of the 49 is unknown. Both blocks and heads appear to have no problems or cracks. I will sell the 2 engines for $125 each. Have one set of reconditioned babitted rods available for $100. These rods were done decades ago so they should be reliable. Note: I pulled the original babitted rods out of my '40 after 62 years of use and they were still in usable shape. Also I have a 320 cubic inch cylinder head out of a 1949 Roadmaster complete. The 320 head for $95. We will be relocating and these items are no longer needed. I also have a 248 intake-exhaust manifold and both 1940 and 1941 steering boxes---make an offer. 6. '41 Buick front fenders that fit both the Century and Limited Models. These include the inner fenders. Fenders have surface rust in that they appear to have worn original paint. Left fender has a bit of rust-out by the upper left corner of the headlight assy. $100 takes both. Also, two hoods for these models. $40 each. Possibly a trunk for the Limited in that it is larger than the Special/Century Sedanette models. Call for measurements. Might be for a 4-dr Special/Century. $40. These items would make good spares in case of an accident. Too good to send to the crusher. All of the above for $175. Call Jerry at (360) 734-1477. Bellingham, WA.

  8. Hello Matt This is an update on my reply on the 263 project. First, I noticed an error dealing with the fan spacer. It goes, as you probably guessed, behind the fan near the water pump. You will also need to use the front motor mount plate from the '40 engine. I don't recall if I had to modify this for clearance or not. Again, good luck! olsuper
  9. Hello Matt. Many years ago I put a 263/dynaflow engine in my 41 Super Coupe. I did use the dynaflow crankshaft but had to make some modifications. First I turned a sleeve on a lathe to fit the cavity in the end of the shaft. The inside of the sleeve was turned to give a snug fit to the pilot bearing. I first chilled the sleeve and then placed it in the end of the crank. Next, I had a machine shop fit the flywheel to the end of the crank. I suspect that there was some drilling involved. This worked out great. One more thing that is necessary. You may have to alter the fan. The 263's that I have seen use a spacer between the fan and the radiator. I had to cut the spacer down in that it put the fan too close to the radiator. Next, I used the 263 fan but had to trim the end to clear the crank pulley. I used the 263 fan since it blew more air than the 41. I know you now have the correct crank but felt this info might help others who are attempting this conversion. My conversion turned out great and with the 41's compound carb system and dual exhaust made the car quite peppy. I did this nearly 45 years ago. Good luck on your project. olsuper
  10. I have a 1973 Opel GT engine and transmission for sale. This item was pulled from the car over 25 years ago. The cylinders were oiled at that time and the unit was put into storage. I was told that the engine was in good shape when I bought it. These Opels were, as some of you may remember, were sold by Buick dealerships throughout the U.S. The engine is complete with starter, distributor, etc. The engine alone is $250, transmission is $75, and both together are $300.00. I am located in Western Washington State and can ship these items. For more information call Jerry at (360) 734-1477.
  11. 1941 Buick front fenders (both inner and outer), and hood (have 2 hoods). All of these parts for $125.00. These pieces fit both the '41 Century and the '41 Limited models only. They have surface rust but are solid. The left fender needs work around the headlight area. Also have a trunklid which, I believe is for the Limited. Price $25.00. 13. I have 5 Buick 455 engines for sale. There are two '70's, a '75 core, a '73, and a very nice running 76. One of the '70 engines is in a 69 hardtop which is marginal if it can be restored. Sheet metal fair but interior bad. The engine seems to be in good condition. The '69 with the '70 engine is $300. Oh yes, it has a good positraction rear end. The '75 core engine is $75. A second '70 engine in a '70 4-dr hardtop and is $200 with or without the car itself. Some good parts on the car. The 73 engine is in a '70 2-dr hardtop which also has some good parts. It is $150. The '76 engine was pulled years ago from a '76 Electra Limited that I owned. It ran great, used no oil between changes and gave excellent highway fuel mileage (18 mpg). I live in northwest Washington state and can be contacted at (360) 734-1477. Jerry.
