  1. New addition to the Buick. (fender skirts)
  2. Cars, Inc has them. Don't expect them to be cheap. Bill
  3. I promise I'll get it in the mail tomorrow. Sorry it's taking so long. Bill
  4. If that car was in Detroit, I think I know where it is now. If it is I would like to know what you know about Bill
  5. You need to investigate whether the wire wheels that are in question, or ORIGINAL Buick wire wheels, were designed for loads not seen with the OEM bias ply tires. That's it!! They just won't tolerate those 60 MPH square corners...... Bill
  6. I have some experience with the wire wheels on my '53 Super convertible, if anyone is interested. They are 6 1/2 with stainless spokes and inner seal, and using P225/75R15 whitewalls purchased from Diamond Back Classic Radial Tires. No tubes. Steel valve stems. I have had no significant air loss, and no other problems so far. Although I don't recommend it, for the spare, I bought a used wire wheel, had it chromed, purchased stainless spokes and nipples from: Buchanan's Spoke and Rim, Inc. in Azua, CA www.buchananspoke.com and installed them. Each spoke has a unique identifier on the end of it, and that's the way they are ordered. I paid more doing it myself than buying one already restored. I recommend Dave Adler at Motorspot for wheel business, although he may not currently have any. That's about all, except I am just a little skeptical that radial tires are that much a culprit with these wheels, if the wheels are correct to start with, and maintained the way they should. Bill
  7. Lama,r How about reducing the size of your pixs, 'before' you upload them??? #1
  8. Mostly ditto to Scott''s reply. I did have a problem, at first, with the driver side door, but now it closes fine. The other problem was with one of a pair of taillight 'tubes' not being the right length. Had to stretch the hell out of it to reach, and they will no doubt fail in time. I have installed the vent window rubber sucessfully, which is the hardest one. Bill
  9. Picky, Picky, Picky, You know I meant 'one owner' when I bought it. Let's just set the record straight.... 'One Family Owned', now are you happy.
  10. I doubt there is any difference between a 56C and the Skylark. Here are some pixs of my 56C one owner '53. Bill
  11. I bet Ken and Sue at Wheatbelt in Oklahoma can help you. Bill
  12. Hi Marty, They are applied to the front side. The backside of the insert is sort of corragated so they wouldn't stick too good. They are made of a pretty heavy durable vinyl tho' and I don't think there is much worry about them wearing out. The color is not quite as brillient as I would have liked, but I don't believe anyone will complain. They are cut precisely to fit the face side of the insert after the insert is removed from the oval bezel. I have told the first inquiry that they are $15 bucks each delivered. I also have all three of the '53 hood and trunk emblems/ornaments available fully restored to show condition with new chrome if anyone is interested. Again, they won't be cheap, but....... Bill
  13. I have vinyl decals which refurbish the plastic to near NOS appearance if anyone is interested. Cost a penny or two to have made, but they do the job. This center plastic piece is becoming pretty scarce, but if you have one that is all faded these decals are the answer. They are for '53 only.Bill<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

  15. I used YNZ for my 53 convertible and highly recommend them. I removed my dash, restored it and instrumentation while it was out. It is bolted in all right. Several ponts at each end and around perimter of windshield. My windshield was out until after re-installation of dash, so made it easier, but still a pain. I had no problem routing the wire cables or hookup using YNZ instructions. Again I was doing it in an open convertible, but also with hydroelectric window, seat, and top hookups to contend with. I am glad I did it, and for a show car, it's really worth the time and expense I think. Bill
  16. At least now I know what it's for..... Bill
  17. Come on Lamar. Why don't you buy a '53 to use as a test mule. Then you would be able to answer anyone's questions in the future and you would probably start getting rid of those ugly '54s.......... anonymous
