  2. For the collective knowledge of the AACA I submit this poser. It was located at the swap meet an a box of car logos and emblems and seller could not state but that he gleaned it at the wrecking yard. I think it is a Viking ship but as a side profile and not head on, not Rover...if a swan the tail feathers are point inside the body and not out....anyone know this emblem....as always, thanks for looking and taking part. has 734 in raised letters on the back....3 studs for mounting and use of barrel clips two circular mold marks with T.R inside one and a combo of letter/emblem I cannot decipher

Looking for correct application for a Bilstein jack that was among a large collection of older Brit car parts, am sure not for a Brit car and style appears to be Mercedes or along that line at least. Does not appear to be Porsche/VW Bilstein AB1574, internet search came back empty. Thanks for your help. edit note.....cleaning the part number show the number 5 instead of my first read of 0 so part number is AB1574 my apologies...still nothing concrete returned from an online search of this number either outside one person guess and calling out about everything made in Germany.. PS...I hate auto correct.....lol

The clubs that revolve about the small Brit cars here in the US especially my quadrant of America seem to dwell around show only with a hospitality room, local tour events and a wine and dine at the end of the awards ceremony. Too much pomp and circumstance/pedigree for the average 'get your hands dirty' owner/builder of the various makes and models and they have all but done away with the swap meet portion of the shows. The last two events/shows I attended had no swap section though advertised and at that save a couple folks were often just offering books on x models for sale or trinkets like Union Jack logo stuff. At most these books were "the story of..." and nothing but picture books with zero pertinent data to the repair and maintenance at any degree....a coffee table book if you will for idle minds. I think many organizers do not like the 'organized chaos' of the display of used parts and such in and about the arena of the event. Whatever their thinking, the lack of a swap meet has totally turned me from any attending any future Brit car show event. Not worth the time or trouble to attend. Don't get me wrong, I like a clean finished car as much as the next man, I just prefer having access to parts to be able to reach that point in a build just a tad bit better.....the combined event of swap and show is truly a win win and many meets are shooting themselves int eh foot for gate money by not hosting the swap.

  8. I have been told that Champion used the 4 x 4" pattern with a rim width of 4" What I have not be told was the rim diameter (14/15) and the register opening diameter. Anyone have that information....looking as a possible source for a retrofit. Thanks....
  9. quick..turn right..there is a black 544 in your path... these little cars are quite the venture..if nothing else, they do tend to grow on you..I have a 62 Sport model...now where did I lay that spare 440 engine....lol

  17. Bingo...we have a winner..I looked for lots of applications..but not the hubcap..thanks so much..I will put this in my display case for now....its in really good condition. I thank you so much for the quick reply. I found a box of misc. emblems and badges at the swap meet and this was in that box.
  18. Evening all..usually I do pretty well identifying parts but this one has me a bit stumped. Granted not an Olds aficionado but got particular item along with a few other items that I needed for another car.. Anyone able to shed year and actual application of badge, say trunk hood or door card etc etc...thanks much.. Measurements......1 15/16 wide and 2 inches high..just shy of 3/16 thick..chromed finish, with locator stud and threaded attachment stud on back.

  22. Looking for the small filler beltline piece on the 51 Packard 4 door as attached on the b-post...please see attached picture... NOTE..........LOCATED AND PURCHASED.........AND TO THINK I LOOKED FOR SO LONG FOR THESE AND BOOM HERE THEY TURN UP STILL IN NEED OF: a c-pillar stainless trim between rear door and rear glass of the senior hearse/ambulance thanks...
  23. the Spicer design rear axles are a pain to deal with...I have had a few snug ones now and again and not until this Volvo with the Spicer did I have ever to resort to a more aggressive method of removal. DO NOT SMACK THE END OF THE PULLER is a big big red flag in the book, internal damage could result. I used a 5 foot cheater bar on my dog bone along with my 200 lbs of body...then carefully place not one, but two propane torches to the left and right side of the hub at the same time..one side popped loose in about 4-5 minutes while the other took about 9-11 minutes of heat..both did pop without slamming the end of the puller or beating on the drum.
