  1. If anybody out there is working on a Q-Jet, or will be in the future, there is a great new forum board in which questions are answered by Cliff Ruggles, a QuadraJet expert. http://cliffshighperformance.com/simplemachinesforum/ If anyone is interested.
  2. Is there going to be one this first Sunday July 2? Since it was Fourth of July weekend, I was just checking before I attempted the trip.
  3. Text of article from the the Henry Daily Herald. Link to article: http://www.henryherald.com/sports/local_story_174234456.html?keyword=topstory Published: June 23, 2006 11:44 pm Friday night street drag racing comes to AMS From Staff Reports Solidifying its place among the premiere motorsports facilities in the world, Atlanta Motor Speedway is adding another facet of racing excitement to its schedule. Starting July 21, 2006, AMS will host a ?Friday Night Drags? series of heads up, street style drag racing. Racing will be held on the one-eighth-mile Atlanta Motor Speedway pit road and the events are open to any automobile and any driver, provided they possess a valid driver?s license. Vehicles will be divided into three classes; import, domestic and Pro. During each night?s runs, domestic cars will square-off against each other and the imports will do the same. At the end of the evening, the domestic winner will face the import winner for the title of best in show. ?There will be no light tree, no electronic timing, just heads up drag racing to the finish line,? said Brandon Hutchison, vice president of events at AMS. In addition to the pavement pounding drag action, a ?show and shine? car show will take place in the AMS infield. ?Show and shine? participants will be divided into three classes; 1985-current domestic and import, classic including 1984 and prior domestic and import, and the Race Only division comprised of race vehicles, both import and domestic. Trophies will be awarded nightly to the winners of each division. ?We are pleased to offer this exciting new series of events at AMS,? Hutchison said. ?This is a great forum for competition of street cars in a safe, controlled environment.? Street drag racers must have a valid driver?s license and drag race competitors age 16 and 17 must have a fully-executed ?minors release form? on file at the speedway prior to competition (forms available at the speedway or at www.atlantamotorspeedway.com). All drag competitors must wear a helmet and have operational seat belts in the vehicle. The 2006 ?Friday Night Drags? will run July 21, July 28, August 4, August 25 and September 8. Gates open at 7 p.m. and practice drag runs begin at 8 p.m. ?Show and shine? car show judging begins at 8:30 p.m. with the championship drag runs starting at 9:30 p.m. Both drag and ?show and shine? competitors will be charged a $20 entry fee, while spectators can enter for only $7. In addition to the drag racing and ?show and shine? car show, a DJ will provide hot sounds and concession stands will be open. Cruise drives around the 1.5-mile speedway oval and victory lane photos will also be available. For more information about ?Friday Night Drags,? contact the Atlanta Motor Speedway ticket office at (770) 946-4211 or visit www.atlantamotorspeedway.com
  4. Here is a link to a picture of a 302 sitting in a F1. http://www.rockymountainclassics.com/images/50Ford/Picture009.jpg The engine fits really well in the engine compartment. Here is the link to the ad in which that picture comes from. http://www.rockymountainclassics.com/50ford.htm There is another pic of the engine but it is distorted.
  5. I'll have to check that out. I have quite a bit of old parts in the barn that I do not need anymore.
  6. In Georgia only cars orginally equipped with seat belts have to have them. It may, however, be different for every state.
  7. A 5.0 is a small engine, as far as OHV V8s go, and I have seen small block Fords in these types of trucks before. I am not completely sure about the fornt suspension, but I am inclined to say that as long as the springs and shocks are not worn out that everything will be fine.
  8. Does anyone know a website, or possibly a good book, which gives good information about identifying Rochester 2 barrel carbs? I am particularly interested in finding the ones which will work with the 3x2 intakes. I have noticed that a lot 3x2 intakes call for a small flange and side fuel feed, but does that mean that all GM Rochester 2 barrels that GM used in the 70s and are in junkyards for a dime-a-dozen will work if they have those two features? I know a good bit about Strombergs, but my knowlede about Rochesters is minimum other than that there are small flange, large flange(2GC), and the ones made for factory tri-power setups(I think that's right). I really just need some info for when I am looking around at swap meets. Any advice would be appreciated.
  9. Good point. That would be easier...question withdrawn.
  10. Anybody know about any swap meets coming up in the Atlanta area?
  11. I was looking for a catalog for the speed equipment company which still makes performance parts for vintage engines. I actually found someone who had a PDF file version of a fairly recent catalog, so if anyone is in need of a catalog they can send a message my way.
  12. Email address added to profile. Jason
  13. Hello, I have been searching for an Offenhauser catalog with no good luck. I was wondering if anyone has a PDF copy of one that they could send this way. If you do it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
