  1. Rolf I am sorry I never responded to any of your wall paper posts. They are all fantastic. I would like your permission to attempt to convery your latest one to an embroidery design. It will really look cool on a jacket.
  2. Remove the plastic cover over the headlight and look there
  3. Go to E-bay and search Mercedes Storage Cart. They run about $99.00. I bought one last year and it fits perfectly. Good Luck
  4. Many plumbers today have a camera they use to look down sewer lines for breaks. They are small and give great picture. See if your local plumber has one and put it in the hole in the trunk. Maybe you will see exactly what the problem is. From there you can come up with a plan. Your only option may be to cut a larger hole in the trunk and then have it welded back in.
  5. When you accelerate you loose vacuum and the air flow door closes and diverts the air to the defroster. This is as David said is by default. There is a check valve in the vacuum lines that is supposed to minimize this. I replaced all of the vacuum lines and check valves in one of mine and it really made a big difference. Good luck
  6. David I am north of you in Lompoc. I have a 91 in your price range.
  7. I did remove mine but you don't have to.
  8. Cleaning the throttle body might help the performance as slow speed. My oil leak was from the oil filler cap. The rubber seal was really bad.
  9. Fuse #6 Speed Control, Stop Lamps, Cigar Lighter, Airbag. I think gosty is spot on
  10. My 99 rack came with a cover. The hardtop fits perfectly. I am very very happy with mine.
  11. I bought this one off of e-bay. Mercedes Hard Top Cart CHRYSLER TC MASERATI ALLANTE SL 99.00 and It works great
  12. The part number for a 91 is 5276457 for a California car it is 5276459 good luck
  13. Power to the fuel pump is supplied by the Auto Shutdown relay. The ASD is located on the driver side engine compartment just behind the air intake. There are three relays attached to the fenderwell. The one closest to the front of the car is the ASD
  14. TC4FREE There is a left tail light on ebay for 89.95. Oddly enough there are several right but only one left. I think it was just listed. Good luck
  15. If you can, get a red service manual (90 and91) and blue for 89. there is almost always one on E bay. There is a special tool --- MST 6163 used for testing the pump pressure. it is a guage and extension adapter MST 6244 that hooks to the HEX pipe between the accumulator and the pump. You need to have between 2320 and 2755 psi. There are just too many steps in the book to outline here. and you need special tools to do many of the tests. After I read your posts I thought you might have internal leakage but that is hard to test for also. I can make copies of the testing pages from the book and email them to you but that will take me a few days to do. email me at don.croner@verizon.net and let me know.
  16. A little more information would be helpful. What were the symptoms before you replaced the accumulator. If the pump did shut offf before you replaced the accumulator I think it is unlikely that it is bad now. Did you get your new accumulator from Amazon.com? (it could be bad) or from Larry at TC parts? Have you checked for fluid leaks?
  17. the fuel pump has two check valves. One valve is used to relieve internal full pump pressure and regulate output. The other check valve located near the pump outlet, restricts fuel movement is either direction when the pump is not operational. So yes, there is a check valve and I would suspect that your fuel pump has failed. Sorry for the bad news. I replace mine a few months back and as you already know it is not a fun job. But, I would take a close look at the regulator first. It is supposed to keep fuel on the rail. You might also want to check the ASD relay. It is what sends power to the fuel pump when you turn on the key. Good luck and please keep us posted on what happens next.
  18. On the back of the instrument cluster there are two plug in connectors. All of the wires for the warning lamps go through the red connector on the printed circuit board. It is possible that the connector has come loose or needs cleaning. This is the only common thing with all of the lamps so I would start there. Hope this will help. Don
  19. When you consider that most members of this forum already have a TC it might be hard to sell them another one. You need to attract an audience that likes the car but does not have one. There are 3 on ebay as of yesterday. Two of them have multiple bids. One of them is over 5K. Ebay is a pain to list items with pictures but I think it is your best option. Good luck
  20. I am far from an expert on this subject but here are my thoughts. The first thing I would do is to listen to see if the pump that pressurizes the accumulator is working. When you first turn the key on you should hear a hum in the area of the accumulator. This is the pump. If you do not hear anything you probably have an electrical problem. Check the wires and relays in the small box on the right fender well. If you hear the hum for more than a minute and a half, you have a bad accumulator. Considering the jolt in the right front I'm going with the electrical stuff. Good Luck don
  21. If you join the Chryslerr TC by Maserati Group on Yahoo the odometer repair procedure with pictures in posted in the attachment section.
  22. The 10th digit position in your vin in the model year. L =90, M = 91.
  23. Yes the crusie will still work. I hope to attend one of the TCA events and I am sure Hemi will be there. I will pay the debt then. I have never been to one of the rallys -- maybe this year.
  24. Cut the wire in the wiring harness in cavity 49 of the Transaxle controller and tape it up so it does not make any contact anywhere. You need do nothing more... Back in 2002 I asked the same question on Yahoo groups. Hemi Anderson, a member of the TCA club provided me with this answer. I still owe him a free lunch. About the TCA. IMO. Some members feel one way to increase membership is to only provide information to other members. I am not that way. I feel the best way to keep all of our TC's on the road is to share information. Not to have membership in a club. I am a member to support the club and help keep it alive.
