1. The DFW area Shelby/Turbo/Any Dodge club meets the second Tuesday of every months just south of DFW Airport. We'd love to have TC's show up, you can view the details at www.lssdac.org. This is no car show, it is just a get-together of turbo Dodge fans. Come on out and join us on May 13! Dave
2. I planned to make it to the show but I was out of town the week before and was worn out from traveling. I wasn't able to take my TC as it was still in the shop, but even if it was at home it isn't ready for a car show. I hope to have it there eventually, but I have a long way to go. Please let me know when the next show is held, I'll try to have something there! Dave
3. I didn't see it either, can either of you post a link to that one? Dave
4. I'll try to show up for the show but I won't have anything clean enough to enter. Will you be showing your 16V or your truck or both? I'll be looking for you! Dave
5. I recommend joining our Lone Star Shelby Dodge list at www.lssdac.org. That list will help you find the other turbo fans in the Austin area. Good luck to you! Dave
6. Front or rear? I know of several parts cars around, will a used spring work? Dave
7. Thanks for the offer on the soft-top glass but I already found a replacement. I am looking for a few other parts, I'll Email you offline. Has your Email address changed the past few years? Mine is the same... I'll get some better pictures when I get the car back from my dealership. They are installing a set of Rick's wires and are giving the car a once-over. Hopefully they don't find any major issues... Rick mentioned that he has a clutch that will work perfectly, but it isn't cheap. If I get really tired of this one I will pick up that his setup. I know that David appreciates your time and effort working on his car. He was disappointed that it wasn't as nice as he was told it was, but he still loves it. He only has to find the same number 1988 CSX to complete the hat trick... Dave
8. It's good to hear from you Alan! How is your Rampage project coming? I've been looking at the TC's for many years but I've always had other projects that take my car budget. I slowed the flow of other turbo Dodges a few years ago and have been looking for the right TC. The right car happened by and I couldn't resist. My new TC is yellow with a custom black and yellow interior and a black top. I added links to a few pictures below but they are horrible pictures. When the car comes back from the shop I'll post more/better pictures. The president of our local Shelby Dodge club posted a link to an ad in a small town paper listing a TC for sale. He wasn't asking much for the car so I didn't expect much. I wrote down the contact information but never made time to call him. The ad ran for at least three months before I finally called him. I expected a T2 but it was, indeed, a 16V. The car was as the seller described: The body is in decent shape, the paint is okay, the interior is in bad shape and it runs. The leather needs to be replaced throughout the car, what isn't cracked already is dry and will crack soon. The car started right up and seemed to boost well, but it bucks a bit trying to maintain any speed in lower RPM's. The car shifts well so I think the tranny is in good shape, but the clutch is stiff and it engages very quickly (too quick for my taste!). The car came to Texas from California in 2002 so it has no rust at all. The rear window for the soft top was missing, the hood struts aren't reliable and there are a few issues with several small plastic pieces. The wood grain on the console is missing the small strip just in front of the ash tray, but that appears to be a standard complaint. The odometer stopped working at 57K, I was told that happened in 2003. The car probably has 80K miles on it now but that is just a guess. And yes, the price was pretty low. I'll guess that Rick mentioned it to you already, news travels fast! This car will end up costing me a lot more than that in paint and interior, but if the engine and electronics are sound it will be worth it. I have my fingers crossed! I met Kirby (Tripblk16v here) today and got to see his nice TC's. Kirby lives less than five miles from me but I don't believe I have seen either of his TC's. He is a really nice guy, I hope that some day my TC looks half as nice as his beautiful triple black 16V! 9.

Quote:

Did you hear about SuperDave's score??? Shh, didn't hear it from me Alan

Is this my buddy Alan J? How's the Rampage, any new pictures? Thanks for helping out David with his CSX, that was very nice of you! To keep this on topic, I did score a 16V last week. It has several major issues and is in the process of being diagnosed. If everythng major checks out it will receive all new leather inside and new paint on the outside very soon. I'm thrilled to be back in a 16V 2.2! Dave
