  1. I have a 1921 Studebaker that is in original condition and I would like to keep it that way. Most of the paint is gone, although it remains in places. Much of the surface has a rusty look that I would like to preserve as the car looks like it was traveling to California in the dust bowl days. I am looking for suggestions on conserving the surface, not restoring it. I thought about clear coat or wax as possibilities. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has a solution to this problem. Thanks Tom Imig

  10. I am in the process or replacing the transmission case on a 1922 Studebaker EL/EK. I want to replace the felt grease shields but don't know where to get replacements. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, tom
  11. Removal of the flange from the transmission drive shaft in my 1922 Studebaker big six required a lot of torque on the gear puller. The flat part of the flange that bolts to the propeller shaft is no longer perfectly flat and must have been slightly bent during removal. How can this be repaired? Remachining or hydraulic press? I would appreciate any recommendations as I am only a novice. Thanks. Tom

  16. I bent a stud when removing the head. Is a "3 1/2 x 7/8 20 threads per inch on each end" stud available? If not, should I straighten the stud and use it? Tom
  17. I have a 1922 studebaker with a van sicklen speedometer that needs some attention. I've removed three screws that mount it to the wooden dash board but it is still held in place. I am wondering if anyone has removed one of these and could give me some advice. Thanks Tom

  20. The wing screw I need is pictured below. It is just a bit over 1 1/2" wingtip to wingtip, and about 1 1/2" long. I thought it was made of steel but it is nonmagnetic. Maybe stainless? I didn't think it looked like brass when I ran a die over the threads. Thread size is 5/16" - 24.
  21. I am very interested. How might I receive a CD with the Images?
  22. How were running boards trimmed for the big six / special six. The pictures that I have seen appear to show gray linoleum. How were the edges trimmed? Mine has replaced wooden running boards with steel L shaped edging abutting the body, front and back fenders. Perhaps the steel is original. There is nothing on the outside and I'm wondering what it should be. Tom
