  1. The lens reads as follows LIBERTY LENS MACBETH-EVANS PAT. DEC. 8, 14. TYPE D NO 4769B approximate size is 9 x 7-3/4
  2. I need a headlight lens. Let me know if you have one for this car. Thanks Tom
  3. I want to have a new top made for my 1922 Studebaker EK but am unsure what material to use. The old top is not of any help because it is not original. I would like to hear from anyone who has a car with an original top or knows what was originally used on these cars. Thanks Tom
  4. I have a 1954 Studebaker Commander 2door hardtop that has been converted to 12v with the exception of the windshield wipers. I have a 12v motor from a 1957 Golden Hawk that will presumably bolt in. My question is whether I need to change the switch. It is wired similarly in the wiring diagram for each car. Any help will be appreciated. Tom

  6. My 1921 EG has hood supports mounted on the cowl as shown in the pictures. I would also like the name of this support. I couldn't find anything in the Studebaker parts catalog that resembled this piece. May be it is not original to the car but was added by the dealer or owner. I am currently restoring a 1922 EK that did not have these supports. Perhaps it never did or perhaps they dropped off and were lost. Please respond if you can help answer any of these questions. Thanks Tom
  7. I would like to add trunk panels to my 1949 Roadmaster convertible and am looking for a supplier or a pattern. I'm also looking for a supplier for the fabric that goes on the floor. Finally I would like some pictures of a restored or original trunk. Any help would be appreciated. Tom
  8. I have a 1949 Buick Roadmaster convertible and have thought about replacing its 8.20-15 bias ply tires with radials in hopes of improving handling and safety. Please let me know if you have had any experience with this and the pros and cons of making such a change. Thanks Tom
  9. The car is seriously rusted and not restorable in my opinion. Useable body parts include front fenders, hood, front bumper and guards, grill, rear deck, doors, sweep spears, and dash with instruments. THe engine is in the car but no transmission. The chassis is complete including brakes, shocks, and rear end. Contact me if you are looking for specific parts and I can send pictures. Tom

  15. I want to buy a right rear bumper guard for a 1940 Cadillac 60 Special.
  16. Success! I took the gas tank to Orr Radiator in Kansas City, KS as they do a lot of gas tank liners in the Kansas City Metro area. I have had them do a tank on a 1922 Studebaker and a 1924 model T ford previously. They pressure washed the inside of the tank with hot water and steam and the liner lifted off when the water entered the area around the cracks. They'll need to cut open the side of the tank to remove the RENU liner and then it can be relined.
  17. Here is the private reply that I received following this post "Tom, I was your Renu Service Rep. I must say, up front, you attacked me with the basic, "How much is a cart of groceries" type of question. First off. Your tank is not under warranty. You are not the original owner of the product, as we discussed. Secondly. You were asking me for proprietary information as to how to remove our product, and at what temperatures, etc, etc. I can not give you that. What happens if you get hurt using information that I give you? Thirdly. I offered to give you a location close to you, but there was none. Lastly. We CAN repair your tank. BUT YOU MUST SEND IT TO US. Which you were not very willing to do. I can NOT give you an exact quote over the phone for an item that I have not seen. If, and when, you send the tank to us, we will give you a quote before we process your tank. I DO UNDERSTAND that it will cost you money to send it to us FOR AN ESTIMATE. . . but hey. . . what else can I do? I CAN NOT SEE YOUR tanK THRU THE PHONE." I am sorry if my telephone inquiry seemed to be an attack, it was certainly not meant to be. Just trying to find the best route to go with repairing this tank and not spending a fortune. Now I have a better understanding of RENU policies. Tom
  18. The tank does have a RENU stamp but the lifetime warranty is good only for the original purchaser according to customer service at RENU. The tank had been done prior to my purchase of the car so the lifetime warranty not longer applies.
  19. I have a Pierce Arrow with a gasoline tank that was treated by RENU before I bought the car and the liner has now failed. It is cracked and brittle and pieces of it clog the gas line when the car is running. The liner cannot be dissolved because it is baked on. I called RENU and asked how to remove it and they told me heat but would not disclose the needed temperature. I would need to ship the tank back to one of the company offices and the closest one is several hundred miles away. Has anyone had success in doing such a removal? I'm reluctant to send it to RENU given the fate of their first liner and the treatment that I received by their customer service rep. Tom
  20. I would like to remove the steering wheel on my car to do some repair work on the concentric light switch and throttle controls in the center of the wheel. How are these concentric controls removed? Any help that you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks Tom
  21. The doors on my 1922 touring car are somewhat twisted. They are well aligned with the body at the top of the door and along the hinge edge of the door but stick out about 1/2" at the bottom of the unhinged edge. I've tried using body shims but still can't achieve good alignment. I would like help on how to adjust this misalignment from any one who has faced and solved this problem. Thanks Tom
