  1. selling our low milage '88 coupe, vin 1g4ec11cojb901480.mi. 78850.16 way seats, leather bolsters. car is in #3 overall condition. new rear calipers and rotors, new rear park brake cables, new delco alt. replaced center display screen and r.h. mirror. a/c converted to 134a. car has electric draw from cpu(replaced) that will drain battery in 4-5 days if car is inactive. i do not have the time or interest to give this reatta the attension it deserves! offered at $3000.00. please call my cell @ 781-922-2559 or e-mail gintim88@aol.com for more info.
  2. hello all, finally got some time to install crt and r.h. mirror assy. i bought from jim finn. every thing worked great ( not to mention the reasonable prices) and it's nice to have the crt and mirror back in service! now on to the next chore. my security light stays on continuously after locking the doors, does not go out after the 6 second waiting period. battery usually goes dead if car is not run after 2 or 3 days. any suggestions before i start testing door, door jamb switches, module and relay would be welcome.
  3. can't seem to get my pics downloaded. tried put one on my avatar and got this red x. tried to add an attachment to a post and got 0 downloads. every seemed ok after i hit subit, waited for blue bar to finish and screen to send me back to forum, any ideas?
  4. talked to a chevy service tech. who drives a early model cavalier. his belts and latches do the same! no 'offical' testing process he knew of. guess i'll clear the driveway, wrap a pillow around my face and jam the brakes on! we'll see what happens.
  5. on the lap and shoulder belts, when you pull quickly the restraint mechanism dosn't engage. belt moves freely. no wires to units so it's mechanicaly operated. was told on some gms. ther's a weighted ball that rolls forward to engage restraint, test is to raise rear of vehicle, did that, no change.could be an accumulation of crud? tried the ones i found in bone yard, with same results but could not raise rear of vehicles. seat backs fold forward without using release lever. they're never in the latched position.
  6. thanks for the replies, i've pulled the r.h. seat and removed the hinge latch assy. cannot see any broken ,missing pieces. lubed the crap outa it and still no lacthing going on. have not pulled the shoulder harness assy. yet. they are mounted in the door so could be full of 16 yrs. of caca, will check that out. does anyone know of other gms that used the door mounted belts? f14crazy's right, they don't have to come from a cavalier!
  7. ervinre, still interested in your '89. give me a shout before you call the boneyards!
  8. hey i found those black straps in the truck of our '88, still rolled up!
  9. have a non reatta, g.m. question thats been makin' me nuts. good friend bought a low milage '90 cavalier for his 19yr.old daughter. found the shoulder/lap belts and seat back latches are inop. tried every test i know, including jacking rear end way up, no change. check of the local bone yards finds (poor selection at best)the same conditions. parts are obsolete from g.m., no luck on e-bay , internet or gmparts direct. posting on chevy clubsite brought a suggestion to buy a hemmings mag.,(already looked). any and all thoughts/suggestions gratefully accepted. have also considered a well placed match!
  10. ervinre, please don't junk your reatta. i live in revere, ma.,if you you don't get any takers let me know,i'll come get her.
  11. what color's the interior? i need odd and assorted for my '88.
  12. wow, i don't even know where to start, i do this every day on united airlines ground equipment here in bos. are you going to paint in your garage? long term project? i try to remove as much trim, door handles ect. if it's a complete paint job. if windows on the reattas are glued in it'll tough to remove without breaking. if possible i'd try to remove the trim a let the glass alone. other than that start sanding and be ready with some prime'n fill, then more sanding. we use a dupont materials, if i can help with part nos. let me know
  13. thanks, sent our application papers in on tues. we're really hoping to make some of the events this year. from what i've seen so far, i do'nt think any other site has the activity we do. will get pics out as soon as i steal the camera back from my daughter!!!
  14. sorry dude, i bought the reatta you were interested in. when my wife and i pulled in the the parking lot and saw the condition this car was in it was a done deal.when you come across a car like this you gotta move now! the funny thing is this lady tried to move this car for a few months, nobody would come grin at it. i saw the add in the revere journal (of all places) for 3 weeks before i called to see if it was a misprint. sometimes god smiles on tinknockers!!!!!
