  1. I picked car up from older mechanic. Health not doing well- nice man. He did updated brake work, gas tank refreshing, nice new complete exaust system. He took out original 425 engine and replaced with this KX 425. I asked him why he didn't paint motor before putting in car he said he wanted it look like it's been in there.
  2. I didn't consider that. Thanks for pointing that out.
  3. You really love your car to perfect your steering wheel and having to put $3600 to get it there. I'm guessing i will have $200 -$300 into rechroming your reproduction hornbar.(have not taken anything to chrome shop in years) I talked to a friend today and showed him the break om my original horn bar and said the repair thet was done was performed incorrectly. He thinks he could fix it correctly and I would still need to rechrome but it does have the fine details since its the original. Or possibly get rechromed one from Gene in P.A. On your cap -with the 1 of 3 broken hold down tabs it STILL stays on firmly? ???? Hub with few bolts missing - minor issue I do appreciate your response and think getting a hub and cap 1st. And then decide which route to take on hornbar. Just started my search for hub and cap- went to Buick Nationals few weeks ago and will be going to Lisle ,Illinois BCA in June. Thanks Mike L.
  4. Oh yea the big tweed 1 piece that covers most of trunk floor has heavier black cardboard material under the tweed (not just the tweed material) Looks like yours is only tweed over the trunk.
  5. Thank you I liked the greyish color and fit well. I left old material on passenger side wheel well for reference ponit to do driver side then reference new passenger side. I was gonna cut my own hood insulation but figured I would try out theirs for $33 and was happy with fit and look. PS - I'm Canadian also
  6. I'm sorry- picked up front seat material-$423.99 Carpet-$230. From O.P.G. Not NPD
  7. Ordered all from Cars LLC out of New Jersey Tweed trunk kit-$119 Trunk cardboard kit $78 Trunk rubber Buick mat -$89 Hood insulation kit -$33 Shipping was a bit high like almost 18% because bigger boxes. Was gonna order front bucket seat material from them but told me 8 to 9 month back order so I picked them up from NPD About same price- received in 4 weeks along with carpet.
  8. I have tilt wheel column to add to my 64 Riv. And wood wheel - I have original horn bar but is broke and has been repaired (repair didn't last long). I will be purchasing a new reproduction horn bar. I do need R cap and hub- I here they are hard to find. If you don't ask -may never find. Any leads also appreciated. Thanks Mike
  9. Been reconditioning my 64 Riv. Last few month. Started with removing all old trunk material out of trunk and very happy to discover NO rust underneath. The red you see is factory glue under original material. Cleaned up trunk floor before putting down new tweed material, new cardboard and rubber mat- new trunk rubber seal and touched up paint around trunk area's with factory paint code in spray can made by my local ppg paint shop (Arctic White). Took hood off and detailed underneath and put new insulation. Next project was to detail engine compartment then paint KX engine. Started by trying to do quick detail of engine compartment but learned right away to do a good job better to take each component off restore it before putting back on and made painting compartment easier with nothing on it- and MUCH better job.Next was painting engine - pretty much took most components off and glad I did - final product was GREAT. Lately I've been concentrating on left and right parking light assembly-disassembled, cleaned up,painted around area and replaced with nicer park light chrome big uppers and lower small ones. I rechromed front bumper and will try to finish up assembly of the front in next few weeks- install radiator and condesor, clean up bumper braces ,install bumper, hood back on. Then it will be interior next- my new carpet and new seat covers have FINALLY got here. Interior isn't deluxe interior but I'm very plesed it was equipped nicely - PW SEAT,AM/FM,PW windows ,AC. I have a tilt wheel column to put in with wood wheel - I will need to purchase new reproduction horn bar(the original is broke) I'm in SEARCH for steering wheel cap and hub. Has complete new exaust system and new gas tank, brakes -new drums, shoes and hardware, new master and booster and new lines. Underneath floors have surface rust (no rot through). I will put on hoist wire brush surface rust and POR15 Paint it.Gonna take off all 4 tires off to access wheel wells and detail these area's This is where I'm at on this freshening up of Riviera- It has been a bit of work but the rewards when each little project is complete makes me happy.
