  1. That is a lot of money for a So-So car. what is up with the rear shoulder belts?
  2. Ed, Ecklers Corvette reproduces the license plate frame, but it is the style without the "handle" that the flip down lic. plate should have ( it is perfect for the front plate however ) part number 88-0352-1 $15.99 or for a pair part #88-0391-1 for $24.99 .
  3. Spark makes a nice 65 in Midnight blue or Sahara mist and Neo also has the 70 in Beige with a tan top and the 69 in Burgandy with a black top. Also check out the 72's from Precision X. Most of the time someone has them for sale on Ebay.
  4. This is probably a sham listing, the car is listed about 1/3 it's real value, the seller has a zero rating and the pictures are taken somewhere in the desert. I have a feeling a Nigerian Prince is going to be the owner of this one.
  5. BJM, The seller states he believes the seats to be factory but has been told they are not. The Buick factory brochure and the color and trim book list bench or split bench seats for Electras. Rivieras with bucket seats came standard with the short center console so I would think that if Buick were installing buckets in an Electra, it would have the console too. It looks like someone at sometime took a car with a split bench seat with arm rest, removed the passenger side seat, removed the seat back and attached it to a bucket seat bottom and reinstalled that into the car. If you look at the picture of the seat closer, the seat bottom is narrower then the seat back.
  6. Ed, Snake-oyl rewebbed my seatbelts about 15 years ago. They did a great job and they still look like new.
  7. Chris, You have a nice looking car. you should post what price you are asking so people have a better idea if it is something they can afford or not. I noticed that the air cleaner lid is upside down on your engine, you may want to turn it right side up. If I had some room to store it, I would have been interested. Good luck
  8. It looks like some personalizing was done to the car ( 68 side marker lights, 67-69 roof "R" emblem on the vinyl top, antenna on the LR fender ) so adding Gran Sport emblems wouldn't seem to be out of the question.
  9. There could be a plugged drain hole for the A/C evaporator or if it smells like coolant- a leaking heater core ( Horrors! )

    Tight clams?

Rob J , All your video needs is the clip from Roadhouse where Patrick Swayze asks " Do they work? "
  11. Lamar, I wasn't worried when you listed "Get naked" in you heading. Now, if you had put "Get nekked" I would have been concerned.
  12. The meet T-shirt has a 63 Riviera, a 53 Skylark and a 88 Reatta on it. cars celebrating their 50, 60 and 25 year anniversaries.
  13. I do not know how much having black plates would add to the value, but I am pretty sure this is not a California car originally ( no Cali emmisions present ). Unless the car came to California in the late 60's, it couldn't get black plates.
  14. H is for Wedgewood blue, a light metallic blue.
  15. There is a big flaw in the logic of the person getting the most votes is to be the President. There are 9 members of the BOD with elections for 3 each year. In the current year, there would only be 3 candidates. the other 6 would not be eligible. So, The President would change every year. A different scenario would be this: If all 9 are allowed to run. What if person "A" received 700 votes this year but person "B" received 800 the year prior? Does person "B" become president because a higher total? at what point do you cut off the most votes tally? Some things to ponder over, which probably explains why the BOD officers elections were set up the way they are quite some time ago.
  16. The main body is the same as a power vent motor ( passenger side ) but the top cap is different. you would need to switch them.
  17. Frank, Anytime I had removed them, the bumper was off. You may not have a choice on this.
  18. ....in 1968. Recently I received as a gift, an October 1968 Hemmings motor news. Under the Non-Ford cars for sale section was an ad placed by D.D. DeRees of Utica, Michigan for the Landau showcar. It was stated the car was well preserved and the owner was looking for an offer or a large antique touring car. I wonder what kind of offer would have bought the car back then?
  19. Did you remove the chrome trim around the clam shells? The piece that screws into the fender. That gives you a wider opening to remove them.
  20. Tony, It is the cover for the drivers seat track, I imagine you have a power seat in your car. It looks like it is for the LF corner to cover the fastners/bracket that secure the seat to the floor.
  21. Bernie, If you were entering the Nationals, Class "S" is where your car would go. It is a new class set up for modified cars that look like a factory vehicle. Hearses and ambulances for example, go into this class.

    71 Riv GS

Well, at least he updated the ad to say that it was restored. Now if he could only learn to spell.
  23. Tony, The speaker is a 4X10 and the panel that holds the accessory switches comes off as an assembly. Just remove the 4 screws ( one each corner ) and you can lower the panel. The speaker comes out with the dash pad, remove the 4 screws on the under side of the lip and then pull the pad towards the back of the car until the front clips clear, then lift slightly for the speaker to clear the upper edge of the dash Don't forget to disconnect the speaker wire if you are taking the dash pad all of the way out.
  24. Jayson, I have used these on a couple of my cars. They fit well and are easy to work with. You will be able to tell the difference between the covers and original door panels ( the grain is a little deeper and being plastic, it doesn't feel the same ). But with a estimate of $800 plus shipping from Just Dashes for two door panels. I can live with it.
