  1. Thank you for the thoughtful replies. Car is totally solid and clean underneath. If I interpret right, clean it up, rolling on tires, make sure all parts are present and ask around 5K. I'll propose that to the owner and see where it leads.... PlymouthPE - the car is in southern california, near riverside. If you, or anyone is seriously interested, you are welcome to PM me.
  2. Thank you, Gentlemen. Sorry, no supercharger in sight! Here are a couple poor photos...seems like a neat original car, nevertheless an orphan....
  3. Thank you Gentlemen - Very very helpful. First, based on the spotters guide, must be a 421 based on the grille. There is a restored 521 on ebait right now at 12.5K. Bonhams auction results list 2 521's in the last 5 years at 11.5 and 9K. Poor pictures attached if it helps...Again, thank you for your insights.
  4. I know nothing about Hupmobiles. That said, I am trying to assist a friend in valuing a '35 Hupmobile J-521 sedan. Sorry, no pictures. Last tagged in 1986, sitting since. Likely a very original car - indoor stored in dry dry southern california. exterior paint was good, now tired from the years, the inevitable scrapes in a tight garage, etc.. Chrome and trim maybe a little better than expected. Mechanical completely unknown - certainly would need the usual to get it back running/driving. Couple of flat tires and the requisite layer of dust. seats are out as the task of headliner and new glass was abandoned for other priorities/projects. Loved, but neglected. Any idea what the market range might be? Its a cool looking car, but is there a market....?
  5. I know nothing about Kaiser Dragons. That said, I am trying to assist a friend in valuing a 51 dragon. Sorry, no pictures. Last tagged in 1990, sitting since. Likely a very original car - maroon "dragon" interior in very decent shape, exterior paint tired. Chrome and trim maybe a little better than expected. Mechanical completely unknown. 4 flat tires and the requisite layer of dust. Dry California car, indoor stored. Any idea what the market range might be? Is there a market....?
  6. I have the wheel hub covers, aka hubcap extensions. I'll be back in Dallas at the end of the month. DAF
  7. Not the same. 37-120, last year for trumpet horns.
  8. I assure you I have a reasonable base of knowledge - just sayin', that the tach in the red car would certainly be the only one I've ever seen like that...most interesting.
  9. Just now back online. thank you VERY much for the assistance. I will endeavor to get a picture of the project, I understand. Will followup with report on sourcing as appropriate. DAF
  10. Thank you for the information and referrals - I am a Packard guy hunting for a very good friend, so I am Cadillac blind. Vehicle is quite interesting, actually a sedan that was converted into a truck to transport and power a circus ride and is being restored as such (including the ride). Still with the original family since the '40s. That is, if a replacement engine/block can be sourced... Target is to secure engine/components and some other misc parts by Hershey.
  11. Can someone please advise me what year(s) the cylinder block portion of the engine will interchange with 1932 V-8. Seeking replacement for LEFT side of '32 V-8 engine. (freeze cracks all the way through cylinder wall, NOT repairable) If you happen to know of one, will buy whole engine if necessary....Thank you.
  12. I advised Dinosaur Don regarding your post. His reply was are you referring to Commander 6 or Commander 8, inferring that there is also a difference between those models... What do I know....I'm a Packard Guy. And as recently as two days ago, there was no line outside his door to purchase said reflector.
  13. Really??? C'mon guys, someone must know where I can buy some sheetmetal...please.
  14. Now we all know how hard it is to stump Don Axelrod, The most knowledgeable headlight guy on this planet. Well, I just came close. At first he didn't recognize it, but finally an aged brain cell kicked in. Don is now in the possession of a NOS '35 President, President ONLY, NOS headlight reflector. Don hasn't had one in probably 40 years, genuinely referred to, in Don Axelrod terms, as "rare as rocking horse manure". So if indeed you have a '35 President and have been looking for a correct reflector for 39.9 years or more, contact Don immediately....
  15. OK guys, i am coming up empty on other sites, so..here's the latest challenge- - does Anyone know where I might obtain a RIGHT rear quarter panel for a '58 Chevy, and the twist is it must be from a 2dr Impala or a Convertible, as this top of the line model is the one with 3 tail lights on each side, not two. Need the whole thing, doorpost to tail light panel. Patch panels are not sufficiently tall - need all the way to the top of the quarter, and nobody I have found makes a repro tail light panel for the Conv/Impala. Rusted quarter OK as long as the upper portion, above where patch panels could be used is OK. Will buy the tail light panel separately as I have heard these got saved separately sometimes....HELP!! Thank you for any leads, or, well, even an extra prayer or two...what the heck!DAF

  18. As of now, .020's seem to be a figment of imagination. We are taking the crank to a shop that says they can spray weld and resize the journals on Friday. Will advise, and any comments on resizing the crank are welcome. (Egge has .002's...)
  19. how about .010's? anything out there? Anybody have an uncut crank that might only need polishing to .002? Project is at a dead stop - National Airflow meet in June....HELP!!
  20. Followup to need for .020 crank bearings that seem to have evaporated from this universe, can someone please advise whether a crank from a '49 is the same as the crank from the '34/'35? Or if different, how?
  21. Update - the above opportunity did not work out. I am still looking for the right project, Delahaye, Delage, Talbot, etc. thanks!
  22. anybody coming to Chickasha that could bring and engine from Upstate NY (utica) ?
  23. Engine rebuild already far behind schedule....need Mains in .020 ASAP, please dig deep, the "usual suspects" struck out. Thanks for looking or any leads appreciated.
  24. Doubtful Packard nothwithstanding certain similarities. Suspect ZiS110, particularly considering location.
