  1. I have a '42 Dodge coupe that has the cartridge filter that has direct connections to the oil lines. The cartridge is orange. For convience in changing filters, I want to replace this filter system with an insert type filter I have removed from a Dodge parts truck. This filter is the smaller one that uses sock like filters (NAPA 1011). Does anyone know what color the filter body should be painted? Thanks, Reid
  2. Thanks again for your help. Guy, the M847 is a good number. The metal plate on the bottom can be unbolted, and the bowl from the old pump installed. A new filter is in the new pump. The M2090 would not fit between the block and frame on <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />my car. Do you guys usually use gasket sealer, like the blue or black, when you install a fuel pump with a new gasket? The '42 white business coupe does look good. Do you guys know of any '42 brake or taillight assemblies available? Have any of you used Fryer's Auto Upholstery for interior kits?
  3. Thanks everyone for your help. I have a NAPA M2090. It has the sediment bowl on the side opposite the mounting flange, and there is not enough room between the engine block and car frame to use this pump. NAPA has gotten another pump in that I am going to look at. He says it has no bowl, but a space on the bottom for the old bowl. May have to order from Andy Bernbaum. The price is only a little more.
  4. I am new here, so please forgive if I ask questions that have be asked before. Does anybody know if NAPA has a fuel pump that fits th '42-'48 cars? If so, do you know the part number? Looking for a pump with the sediment bowl on the bottom of the pump. Also, does anyone know if the '42 Dodge cars ever had the '46-48 taillights instead of '42 ones? Mine does, eventhough it has the correct brake light in the middle of the trunk lid. Did the Deluxe models always have the front fender upper chrome molding that starts at the headlight and extends toward the front door. Mine does not. One more question. Does anyone know if the interior door panels are available anywhere with the spread wing type design depressed in it? Thanks
