FYI, Be aware, The truck engines start with a "T" before the numbers. And the Serial Number was cast engine front left side of number 1 cylinder. It is also the vin number. A lot of car engines were put in after the truck engine was beyond repair. A 54 may have a tag on the door post. I only know about '51 from experience. Hope that helps.

I rebuilt a 51 dodge B3 pickup. You should know that there is a tube running inside the left bottom of the tank. The output connection is at the front of the tank and the tube runs just about an half inch off the bottom left of the tank. Make sure it is not rusted or it will not draw fuel. Best thing to do is get someone with a "scope" to run inside and check tube before doing anything drastic!
