  1. Hey folks I went to that site (parts america) and they have the 890 parking light bulbs listed. under a quarter, how about that./
  2. Ok I have good news and bad. 63viking has offered the assy for $125.00. BUT, I just mailed off for the headlight kit so....... and if you guys read my "engine miss" posts you know I just droped $891 into my motor, soooo...... I gotta wait. I'm gonna see what I can do with some polish, and good 'ol elbow grease.
  3. Why thank you. Yea the wife is wondering what I bought. Drive it a week and drop almost a grand more in it. I told her to quit thinking like a woman.LOL
  4. Did you think I did badly with the prices on this repair?
  5. Some will remember my post about a miss above 3000rpm when i punched it. Well it is fixed. $891 dollars later. spark plugs=$13.14 cam interupter=$10.82 timing gear set=57.26 tensioner (cam chain) 5.89 new crank balencer (crank pully)=$123.22(mine was cracked) Timing cover gasket=$18.03 New timing cover (mine was cracked in 4 places around oil pump)$227.18 (included new oil pump) by pass hose = $7.69 New water pump (just because engine was apart, did it now.)=$46.32 oil filter$5.45 antifreez=$8.99 Distilled water $1.25 new serp belt=$28.56 PARTS total= $551.30 LABOR= $300.0 TAX (in california) $39.97 Grand total = $891.27 Thank the car gods and my own instinks that I decided to have the shop change the timing set. Who ever worked on the car sure messed up the front of the engine. If I had waited I would have lost the oil pump or worse. I know some of the parts could have been gotten cheeper but all I had to do was wait and let the shop do the parts chaseing and labor. A big plus with my work load. Happy days are here again cause I can drive my 'lil red babybuick. Daytime only though. Got to get Barneys headlight parts so left one does'nt shine on the bummper and the right one on the moon.
  6. I would like to know if you have a 89 tail light assy 4-sale? Mine has a crack at the top of the red reflector about 6" long. This has alowed moisture to condence inside the taillight section. Also the "clear" lens has turned. I am thinking of cleaning and glueing mine up then blacking it out like one I saw on the "net". I would rather buy a good lens assy if I can aford it. Thank you for being a big part of the Reatta Q&A team.
  7. My 1998 Buick Regal GS (Supercharged 3800/240HP) has spanked MANY 5.0 Tangs. A 91 Tang did inch up @ 45mph till about 65mph, then it was bye bye. And to add insult to it my GS is white with the grey bottom strip. Looks like a grand pa's car. Of course I dont look like a grand pa. I'm only 59.
  8. I bought my '89 Red Reatta New yuears day 1/1/06. Put it in the shop on 1/9/06. It's still there. Can't hardly wait to drive it again.
  9. To update where I'm at on the engine miss. During the cleaning of the parts it was found that the front cover (timing chain cover) is cracked in 3 places. The shop said that whoever worked on this car before I bought it didnot know what they were doing. ie cracked crank pully, & cracked front cover. also the oil pump does'nt look good at all. Should be done first part of next week.
  10. OK, Here is where I'm at. New correct plugs, old ones were wrong. Coil pac from a Grand National was tried and made no diff. I opted to have a timing chain & gear pac installed, not compleated yet BUT, found that the crank pully (vibration dampner) is cracked. The front cover showed that it was about to start leaking water and was leaking oil. Cam chain tensioner is very worn. Cam chain is streached a little (105,000 miles) Crank senser was a cheapy. So the timing pac turned out to be a good choice. Should be done in the next couple of days. Will post the results. I dont know how the shop checked the plug wires but they said that they were good. This shop built a 900HP Buick V-6 w/ twin turbos in a Ford Courier P.U. Same engine w/o turbos is now in Chev S-10. I trust their opinon. They know the 3800 V-6's. It is some of the Compooter stuff that gets em.
  11. Plugs have been replaced and wires were checked. A differnt coil pack was tried, but made no differance
  12. Thank you. I will try that next.
  13. I have a miss in my 1989 Reatta when I get on it. There does not seem to be any codes in the computer. Am haveing a new timming gear & chin set put in right now. what else could it be?
