Hello everyone...I am in the process of restoring the bottom, front seat frame for a 1937 Pontiac Touring Sedan. Given a box of seat hardware, I have begun to attach seat guides and runners to the bottom of the seat frame and the car floor. My attachment shows 2 springs which I need help positioning and fastening to the seat assembly. Does anyone have an exploded diagram from a Master Parts catalogue, or your own photos of a similar rebuild, or any info as to where the springs are attached to the underside of the seat frame? Thanks for any help you can give me in my restoration...Dave atta

tcslr... I know some fellows in the model train hobby who use water decals in restoring their train cars and engines. Their procedure is to start with a clean, gloss surface. Apply the water decal, then apply a product called SOLVASET manufactured by Walthers. It is a liquid which will allow you to gently slide the decal into its final position and then draws the decal down to "set it" in position. The excess will evaporate. Then they will apply a satin finish over it to seal it. I believe this would work for you. Good luck... Dave

STUTZ BB Speedster 1928, DELCO-REMY Generator Specification
straight8pontiac replied to mbeitner's topic in Technical
Mbeitner... I am looking at the Ninth Revised Edition of a Hollander Manual and it lists the Stutz '28 BB, '29-'31 M, Large 8, and '32-'33 M 8 as using the same generator. The number listed is a #391 with the armature # of 37826. Hope this helps... Dave -
Pont 46... I am looking at a 1953 Master Parts Catalog in the group # given(6.750). The listing in the catalog covers 1939 to 1953. There is no part number that matches what you provided. Are you missing a 0 which would be 508039? That lists the steering column bracket as 1942 thru 48 model 26 all. No mention of model 25 Hope this helps... Dave

2023 Pebble Beach Trip- 21 days of car overload.

Thanks Ed for the photos. The first photo reminded me of the General Motors offerings in 1929 of the Chevrolet, Pontiac, and Oakland Landaulet Sedans. That Lincoln is a beautiful car. -

Thank you Ed for the wonderful pictures. In the 6th photo down, there is a picture of a 4 door sedan with the landau top down at the rear quarter. What is that vehicle? Any other pictures of this car? Thanks... Dave -

55 pontiac 4 door station wagon
straight8pontiac replied to Richard Clark's topic in General Discussion
Richard...Using the "Standard Catalog of Pontiac" 2nd edition by John Gunnell, the style #2562 is listed for the Chieftan 860 Special. Specifically listed as model 860-27 4 door sedan. Your title listed your car as a station wagon but my reference gives an entirely different number for a 4 door station wagon. The 4 door wagon is categorized as Chieftan 870 Deluxe as model 870-27 with style #2563DF. -
Hello again pk... according to the same Hollander Manual I used in your previous post, that is a letter I preceding your number. That distributor is listed for a 1929 Hudson Super 6...Dave
