I have a 1911 Baker Model O Light Truck chassis ( Model No.  0E 11285  Lot No. 138  Load 2000 ) that I saved from the scrap yard FOR SALE  It would not be complex or require a large amount of parts to restore. It would be ambitious for sure and very satisfying. Since so many trucks were and are today built for a specified use it could be fitted with a simple wood flat bed and phone booth style cab of wood or metal. A restorer could purchase a motor and all electrical components for it and hide or disguise them. It's all available. Modern electric trucks are on the near horizon. Be the first in your neighborhood to own one. I have restored the 6th Milburn built and oldest known survivor. Truck is located in central Iowa. Thanks for consideration. PM me.   John

  4. 1911 BAKER ELECTRIC LIGHT TRUCK  Model O chassis for sale.  Model # OE 11285   Lot # 138  2000 lb. rating.  EXTREMELY RARE.  I Saved it from the scrap yard.

The wood spokes, wheel rims and solid rubber tires can be replicated. A simple wood flat bed and phone booth style cab could be constructed to resemble service bodies correct for the period.

All new power and control components are available.  Serious fabrication skills would be necessary as well. New electric trucks will soon be available and tours for vintage electrics are a thing now.

Please notify me of the whereabouts of other Model O Baker trucks. This may be the last survivor.

I may offer to restore all or part of it for a buyer.  See pics of the 6th Milburn built and earliest known survivor that was restored in my shop. It is a 1915

Best offer. Located in central Iowa 40 miles from both I-80 and I-35

Thanks.     John      Phone 641 474 2313  home and shop land line   102_2295.thumb.JPG.11a61a2a1638d46ee6f3ac61077a4feb.JPG102_2293.thumb.JPG.ba2c942932f5a1d970df7325d161ca00.JPG

  5. Thank you. I like the contrast too. I'm leaning toward silver. I recently acquired a quart of DUPONT chrome aluminum alkyd enamel probably made in the 70s and no longer available. I think it would be perfect.

Could you post a full view of your Tourer? Where they only available outside the US?

  6. It's time to decide grill color on the 37 DB. The truck will be all black with red wheels and grey interior as original. Generally it appears that grill color was the same as body color. I wonder though if grill color was optional. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

  7. I suggest that you grind off the weld trying to leave as much of the underlying original metal in place initially.

Carefully inspect the remains for indications of attachment to inner structure. Then remove enough more metal to expose the inner support structure. Working from the inner outward restore the structure and finish sheet metal to original contour. Attach hinges as intended with restored sets or replacements. It will will then become an exorcise in door fitment to properly place the hinges.

It can be done.  Luck.   John
