While pulling parts from an estate I came across these Oldsmobile horn rings. Thinking they are mid 30's. Any help in complete id is appreciated. I'll have other items to ID as I continue this task.

I have a box of Lion Carbon Brushes # RX44. Is there anyone out there with a catalog to provide applications for these parts. The box is marked, however when I looked up in my Chevrolet parts book the dimensions are not correct. Thanks !

I am more familiar with judging in another single marque club. There have been times when the Chief Judge has asked the Team Captains to go back out and look at some cars. As they were receiving 1 place awards with their first judging. After the judges took second looks the cars were fairly judged based on the judging form. They did not receive 1 place awards. Some times this is the process that needs to happen.

Sorry, I was incorrect. I jumped the gun on that one. Yes 49/50 Chevrolet accessory hood ornament.

I believe you have an aftermarket '47 /'48 hood ornament. It is close , actually a mix of the originals. As '47 and '48 are different.

Look up a Motion Industries or Bearing Incorporated in your area. They can probably assist you.

Is your '42 a black out version or a chrome version ? By that I mean is what would normally be chrome plated appear to have been originally painted. IE Grill, Exterior Trim, Bumpers. Preserving the history of these cars is part of the fun. Driving down the road in the cars of that era is a breeze. You will find that mechanical parts are readily available via places like Chevs of the 40's and The Filling Station. I would suggest joining AACA and VCCA as they are both great sources for information.

As far as your Gas Door Guard, Look at swap meets,eBay, posting a parts wanted ad here will help you. Be patient one will appear when not expecting it to. BTW, I recommend joining AACA if you have not already. Our award winning magazine you will find interesting.
