  1. Does anyone have a pic of a ferrule tool to do the door ferrules on a 29 Buick? I need to replace one and can't see spending $40 just for the tool. If I have a good pic, I'll just make it. Thanks Greg topan@hay.net

  4. Thanks for the info, but I think your thinking of earlier models. I don't have any shudders. My thermostat sits in the gooseneck for the top rad hose where it goes into the rad. Looks just like later models when they put the thermostat on the engine. A new style thermostat will fit but the lowest temp I can find is 170 degree. With the old style low or zero pressure rad, I thought it might be a little hot. The reference book for 29s says it should open at 120. I thought about running without one but with 5 galllons of water flowing around I wonder if it'd ever warm up.
  5. Hello I'm looking for a thermostat for a 1929 Buick 116" wheelbase model 27. My book says it's a 120 degree. Thanks Greg topan@hay.net

  7. Hi Mark If you look at the side of your 29-27 at the very bottom of your cowl, you will see a strip about 1 inch high that runs from the cowl, along under the 2 doors. It's part of the body and is nailed on before the body is mounted to the frame. It looks like a simple piece to bend but the problem is that it has a slight curve to it and it buckles when you try to do it without rollers or something.
  8. Looking for the drivers side sill panel for a 29 Buick model 27 116" This is the piece that runs directly under the 2 doors between the cowl and the rear fender. 44 3/4" long. Thanks Greg topan@hay.net

  12. Just finishing up the wood on my 29. I used two 2x6s for my sills. Set the cowl on top with the front door attached, slid it to meet the door post and traced the edge of the cowl. I looked forever for a pattern or template but in the end used the steel as my pattern. Good luck.
  13. Thanks for the info.
