  1. can anyone tell me the cfm for a 1924 4cly Buick? I am considering replacing the Marvel carb with a Zenith. Also , I was wondering what horsepower that engine has?
  2. Can someone tell me where to put the leads from my battery charger onto the S/G to bench test it. I took it out of the car because the generator part was not spinning when the ignition was turned on.
  3. I have a 1929 W/K and it does smoke but not excessively. I seem to remember reading that you need about 6 or 7 thousand miles on the engine before it runs well. Be sure to join the WOKR , they will be glad to help
  4. Can someone tell me where to place the leads from my battery charger to bench test the starter/generator? It is out of the car because it would not spin when the ignition was turned on.
  5. The packing nut on the S/G side of the pump is leaking apparently because the threads in the pump housing are worn . The packing nut will grab but doesn't hold tight. I am considering some kind of sealant . Is this a good idea?
  6. I bought the bearing from Bob's, It is sealed and doesn't seem to need lubrication.
  7. I think I installed the old bearing in backwards. I just discovered the center race is slightly raised. I had the raised side facing the pressure plate (caused minor damage) but the bearing got very hot and seized. I have a new bearing which I will install with the flat side of the bearing facing the pressure plate. Am I doing this correctly?
  8. I think I found the cause of the smoke from my clutch area.
  9. Does anyone have an idea what would cause smoke to come from the area of the clutch behind the starter/generator? This is a 24 4cyl Buick. If I have to remove the transmission can I pull it from under the car by pulling back the rear end (again) or would it be easier to pull the engine with the trans?
  10. Its so simple it's great. With the wood placed I could see the gears and forks and it was simple to slide the gears into position. Thanks.
  11. I'VE INSTALLED THE SHIFTER 4 TIMES , START THE ENGINE AND NOTICE THE ( JACKED-UP) REAR WHEELS SPINNING. AFTER RESETTING THE GEAR COLLARS TO MATCH THE SHIFTER FORKS AND INSTALLING THE TRANS TOP I STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I NOTICED THE REAR GEAR ON THE TOP BAR ALWAYS ENDS UP AT THE REAR OF THE TRANS. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
