  10. one of the splash pans fits below the steering box and requires removal of some steering rods to install correctly. on mine i split the splash pan between its edge and center hole for the steering rod to slide through without removal of steering rods. it looks fine. you should be able to line up holes on shield with holes on frame. david
  11. i talked to john moglia yesterday about my knobs and trim order from last year and he informed me that he wasnt going to be making any more in the foreseeable future. what bad news. does anybody have any ideas on a person or company that might be reproducing these knobs. i talked to don eash at d&d and he didnt seem interested. i belong to the kaiser frazer owners club and they charge a one time fee for all members for what they call the manufacturing fund. This fund commissions the production of unavailable parts in quantity and then sells them to its members at a reasonable price. maybe this would work for lzoc and lcoc members too. maybe if there were some expression of interest on a large enough scale this could work here. the kaiser club also has large lots of discontinued fabrics made up and sells them at very reasonable prices. i guess for now i will just live with the 41 ford knobs i bought from dennis carpenter. dd [color:"brown"]
  12. i have four 16x4 wheels on my 41 and a 16x5 in the trunk. the extra width prevents the trunk shelf from operating correctly. not really a problem unless you have a flat. david

  15. the floor switch is the foot radio station selector switch. the radio has a motor driven station selector that operates from the foot switch. the radio was called the Rotamatic. the switch also mutes the volume when held down. replacements are available from macs antique auto parts. the other switch you referred to is the heater blower switch. david.

  20. I NEED LOTS OF PLASTIC PARTS INCLUDING TURN SIGNAL KNOB, WINDSHIELD WIPER KNOB, CHOKE, THROTTLE, CIGAR LIGHTER, ETC. I ORDERED THESE FROM JOHN MOGLIA ALMOST A YEAR AGO. DO YOU HAVE ANY USED PLASTIC? THE STEERING WHEEL COST $800. DON SENDS COLOR SAMPLES FOR YOUR SELECTION--I MATCHED IT TO A NEW STEERING KNOB THAT I GOT FROM JOHN MURPHY. I DONT BELIEVE ANYBODY IS MAKING REPRO KNOBS FOR THE DASH AND JOHN M. SAYS HE IS HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING THE MATERIAL. I ASKED DON EASH ABOUT IT AND HE WASNT INTERESTED. THE FRONT OF THE SPEEDOMETER AND GAUGE HOUSING IS ORIGINAL. I NEED TO TAKE IT APART AND FIX STRING GASKET WHICH YOU SEE IN PHOTO. I DONT RELISH THE IDEA OF LAYING ON MY BACK TO REMOVE THE SPEEDOMETER FROM UNDER THE DASH. ANY SHORTCUTS? THE ATTACHED PHOTO SHOWS MY CAR WITH THE LATER MODEL STEERING WHEEL WHICH I REPLACED. DD
  21. here is a photo of my newly recast 41 steering wheel. it was done by don eash at d&d automobilia. it is absolutely perfect. i also had the chrome ring replated locally--it turned out nice for pot metal.
