  1. First I hope this doesn't post seven times...anyway brought the right side to a local chrome guy today,he says that when he strips it,the pits will reduce almost flush. I hope so,anyway he says the Black and grey around the outside is paint. Will try and match that when I get it back. This guy comes recommmended,he says that when I paint it will look fine. Will know by mid August. Mark Lewis BCA#41402 65&70 Wildcats
  2. I picked up a NOS left side grille for my 70 Wildcat over the winter. No luck finding the right side,so I was thinking about having the old right side restored. The question I have is this. On the NOS grille there is a flat Black finish on the top of the horizontal sections. Is this paint or some other type of finish. Im bringing the grille and the NOS piece to a chrome shop next week for their opinion. Thanks. Mark Lewis BCA#41402 65&70 Wildcats

  8. Other than that issue, how do you like that 77. There is a 77 Limited two door in my area that is for sale,50,000 miles, seller says it was his mother in laws. He got it at 27k and drove it until it hit 50,been sitting for a year,he sent me a few pictures....don't really have the room, girlfriend has given me the double secret probation we don't have enough room in the driveway, you don't need another Buick, you would be in big trouble look, but somehow am interested,Black over Red. Looks like the paint is a bit faded on the hood,he says has a few small rust areas starting on one of the rockers...if I go look at this anything particular about the 77's I should be looking for? 9. Was talking with my friend Charlie yesterday(65 Wildcat) and he told me there is a standard shift 70 Wildcat in our area,it needs restoration but is complete. The owner told him it had some connection to the Rockefeller family. Supposedly been sitting in a garage for awhile,Charlie saw it some time ago and thinks it maybe a convertible. 10. I'm sorry to hear that,he treated me well. Mark Lewis BCA#41402 65&70 Wildcats
  11. The heater core could be handled by your local radiator shop,I had no problem there, the scripts show up on e-bay frequently,Buick Farm also would be a possibility. The Tri-shield on the front bumper is scarce and when you find one expect for pay over $500.00. Jim Schilf who posts on this forum makes a nice polycarbonate reproduction which I have on my car. Good luck with it. Mark Lewis BCA#41402 65&70 Wildcats.
  12. Wanted to buy NOS right side grille for 70 Wildcat. Thanks in advance. Mark Lewis BCA#41402 65&70 Wildcats.
  13. Good luck on that, will really be something when it's finished. Just to show you what a small world it is.....I met a gentleman last summer at a gas station I hang out at. He's a parts salesman, really a Ford guy,but we got to talking and he told me that he had picked up a 64 Wildcat convertible but really didn't drive it much, said his sons weren't into it etc. I think he was thinking of selling it but hadn't made up his mind. Hadn't seen him since. So yesterday for some reason I thought of him and was talking to a friend about him and the car. Went to get gas and there he was on a sales call. We got to talking and I asked him about the Wildcat. He told me that he still had it and thought he was going to keep it. Now being a Ford guy he doesn't much about Buicks. I then found out that it's a 63 Wildcat convertible not a 64. We talked about an hour....he's forgotten more about cars than I'll never know, but he wanted me to tell him all about Wildcats. Also found out he lives about 15 minutes from my house and he wants me to see the car. He had it out last week. Burgundy with a tan top, chrome wheels, buckets and console with an odd option of a two barrel carb. Sounds like a strong condition 3 car. Just missing a few interior pieces. So after New Years will hook up with him(hard to wait that long). My buddy who owns the gas station told me last summer that he thought that someday I would end up it. I think he might be thinking about selling...told me that he was thinking about a Shelby, but I'm not pushy, hope he enjoys it and if he gets bored with it....I'm in the neighborhood. Of course my girlfriend always says...."You don't have room for another car"...probably could hide it under cover on the patio and tell her I bought new lawn furniture. 14. Been with BCA for a little over a year. Brought my 70 Wildcat to the Northeast Regional on Saturday. First time I had done something like that. Registered the car for display. Found a nice shade tree, put my chair under it,had a nice lunch, ventured out several times to look at all the great Buicks, took alot of pictures, talked to quite a few people and thought it was just about the best way to spend a nice summer day. Car ran great, all 160 miles of the trip. I've been involved in other hobbys and I just do what interests me while respecting that others may have different areas that interest them. Bottom line here is that by owning an old Buick you are doing your part in perserving a piece of history. Most cruise nights I have the only Buick. So seeing over 100 in one place is special. So supporting an organization that can make that happen in my mind is important. No complaints here. Mark Lewis BCA#41402 65&70 Wildcats.
  15. Far as I know it's still there. Spoke with the owner in early July. Too much for me right now. I had left you a voice mail at that time. If your interested I'll call him. Mark Lewis BCA#41402
