  5. I have multiple sets of feeler gauges. Only one set is used for checking tappets while running because the thickness of the feelers will be changed slightly after being pounded by running tappets.

  8. I have had three of my cars painted by MAACO. They have also done only the fenders on one of my older cars because I painted the wood body with single state Acrylic Enamel Marine Paint.
  9. Actually, most will get a run at steep hills at full throttle and eventually reduce spark advance to prevent the engine from pounding when the engine slows to a lower RPM range. However, in many cases, I will get stuck behind another vehicle with different shift points (like a Model T) that will require me to down-shift. Down-shifting on a steep hill in my 13 Buick, usually means starting over in first gear.
  10. It is the same on my 1913 Model 31 and 1915 Model C25. Most of those I tour with use their cut-outs primarily for climbing hills.

  17. I suggest you borrow or rent a trailer. Another local club member with a trailer might help if you just ask and pay for gas.
  18. Looks right to me as long as it is heavy lube (SAE 250 or 600wt depending on what scale you use).
  19. Are you suggesting that year to year judging may be inconsistent? Well, slap my face and call me silly!
