  1. Note that Chrome plated reflectors are still illegal in many state BECAUSE chrome only reflects about 60% of the light. UVIRA is usually cheaper than Silver plating, and can actually be better than oxidized silver. Remember, if you drive your DB at night, it is YOUR life you are protecting, as well as your passengers. David D.
  2. The snaps I'm familiar with have a saucer shaped piece on the bottom of the carpet with a hole in the center that fits over the male snap piece. It is held onto the carpet by a ring with prongs that go through the carpet and fit through holes in the edge of the "saucer" and are then folded over. The ring itself becomes buried in the carpet nap, and is nearly invisible. David D.
  3. Jack, That would be great! I've sent you a PM with my email. Thanks much. David D.
  4. Hi, Magneto, production number 64713 putting it late in '16 production. Should have the early starter switch, but it's missing. The dash appears to have had the typical round igniton/light switch. Any help would be appreciated. A photo would really be appreciated! Thanks! David Dewey
  5. What does the mid '16 headlight switch handle look like? Is it a single lever, or like the later switch, more like a "wing" equally on both sides of the ignition key? Thanks! David D.
  6. Hmm, my training and experience is to use a good PRIMER, such as an epoxy primer, then the filler--although for pits I like to use a SURFACER--which is a high-build variety of undercoating materials. After sanding, and finding all pits gone, I then seal with the epoxy primer, followed by the top coats (wait only the length of time the manufacturer recommends). the idea for both coats of epoxy is to seal the filler material so it cannot absorb moisture. 7. It sounds like you actually have an Explosion whistle. This is one that is on the engine head, and whistles with the compression in one cylinder. An exhaust whistle is connected to the exhaust system and uses backpressure to blow a whistle, usually four chime, that sounds more like a railroad steam locomotive whistle. Both are fun! David D.
  8. Travis, I'm nearby in Oroville, with a '16 DB touring in pieces. Just wanted to say "hello" Also, I'm looking for a decent rear wheel. . . . David Dewey
  9. Looks like Dodge Bro's to me. Too many variations in the windshields to tell which model from your pics. Yes, someone probably needs it! D. Dewey
  10. I have a '16 Dodge Brothers Touring Car, AND a '53 Dodge Pickup. I always thought that Dodge Brothers ended with the Chrysler take over--actually, I thought it ended with the end of the Silent Start 12 volt system, until I got my '16 and started reading more about Dodge History. Also, I doubt if having a club for a particular car slows down the rodders. It is sad (IMHO) that the "old car" hobby seems to have drifted towards modifying rather than restoring. I think at least half the fun is making the old technology function! David D.
  11. Are you certain you are looking in the right place, as there are other numbers on the motor. The "Motor Number" is just in front of the starter, you may need to clean the area first to even see it. David D. '16 Touring (mine needs back wheels too (hint hint anyone!))
  12. Thanks!! Now to find out if the firewall number means anything, and if the motor is the orig. It is magneto ignition and aluminum pan. David D.
  13. We believe this car is a '16, based on the engine and chassis & body stuff. Frame number is 64713, firewall number is 6L053. The engine number pad is very small, but it appears to have been filed, looks like maybe the number 8 on the left side. Aluminum pan, magneto ignition. This is gonna be a challenge, car has sat outside for decades, and someone's little urchins tried to destroy anything & everything! David D.
