  4. As the title says, I want to downsize from 17's as the 45 series tires are disc bulgers on these NY roads. I'd like a light rim, both in weight and price. Any decent takeoffs from other cars that match up the 5x100 +35mm offsets?
  5. My pal in HS had a ratty 65 Stang with a 289 that I had the front wheels off the ground. Only found 1 GTO that could keep up with it back in the day. Your dad's caddy was a rare '42? I though they ended production in '41 for the war. And I was always tempted by a Jensen but had my fill of English machinery with odd Brit dirtbikes and the tr6.   6. Looks easier to just flip up the top and leave it unlatched if you're in a hurry. Although it saves wear and tear of dropping the top that many more times. I must open and close my top 2-3 times a day in the summer. I'd like to find one of the old tonneau covers that Karleen used to sell...
  7. Some of the critics were in the same line of work but I recall at least one of them admitted he himself was a reformed fraud. You can read about him on Wikipedia although they're not known to be 100%. Some people have a T1 line through the filmy veil and I think John's one of them now that I know you had the experience. And you think 16V parts are hard to find on this side??
  8. I recall seeing my 1st tvr on the local Brit repair lot in the 70s when I had a tr6. Nice ride but the top was hard! I always thought about dropping in a later 225hp V8 or 185hp V6 into a Dakota ragtop also. And in HS, a classmate had a new orange Stag when I had a 41 Caddy Fleetwood. Was the Jensen a hardtop?
  9. He has his critics-they say he 'cold reads' people and spends lots of time missing rather than hitting. I guess one would only know by a one on one experience like yours.

  11. I guess it pays to read every post in here. Here's some irony for you Tommy: we have an antiques shop about 2 miles form John Edward's office on L.I. We had tix to see him in November but got snowed out that night(the only snow of the year here). I'll have to drive by his office and show off a TC in the flesh.

  20. Eagle Alloy as in..? Weight is a BIG consideration in rims. Lots of tuners go big after hot rodding their motor and LOSE driveline HP.
