The prices for model car paint, both the teeny bottles and the spray cans, are truly shocking. By the time you purchase and assemble the average car model you have about $50 invested.
Kids now can not afford to build them, they were around 1.75 when I first started building and those bottles of paint were most likely around 25 cents.

Cool bike! Not many kids that I knew had a Schwinn back in the day. I had an AMF Roadmaster, the poor kids similar bike but far from as well built as the Schwinn.
Only one on my neighborhood had a Schwinn,I had a AMF and the rest Huffys.

Trying to put it back together with original parts and I frequent the cable.

Picked it up a couple years ago and now time to get it rideable, just sent the check for a correct fork and fenders and will be looking for a set of rims. It had been wrecked as evidence of the bent fork and the remains of the axle in the fork, been hanging in a friend's dad's shed for many years and I have a feeling it was not too old when it was damaged.

Time to get out in the garage and the grass will be needed to be cut soon so not many more models until it gets cold again, might finish a couple that were started on rainy days.

There is a coupe version that I will doing the same with when I find one,the coupe and sedan delivery are late 70s street rods and the coupe does not come with hood sides so a extra sedan delivery hood will be needed and will have to find a correct seat as it has late 70s styled bucked seats too.

I've wanted to get one of these kits but to build it totally stock. Does it have the correct seats? What kit did the wheels, tires and hubcaps come from? Is there another Monogram 1/24th kit that has a stock Chevrolet inline six? Thanks.
It does not have the correct seats and I used the bucket seats from the AMT 34 Ford pickup, the engine is from the Monogram 53 Chevy hardtop kit that I think comes with stock and speed equipment. The exhaust manifold is from a Monogram 53/54 Corvette that I have never seen but somehow had the engine, the rims and tires I had in stock and the hubcaps are from the AMT 37 Chevy kits.

I think the engine came from the 53 hardtop kit and the split manifold came from a 53 or 54 Corvette kit I never seen before but some how I ended up with a partial engine

With me being on the frugal side I tend to buy incomplete projects so I put them together with whatever parts I can get cheap and not willing to spend the money to get all the correct parts so I have very few cars that have 100 percent correct parts. And I do not own a trailer so what ever I get has to be able to go down the highway without being a burden to everyone else so there are going to be some modifications to do that like gear ratios, overdrive trans and better brakes if needed. Whatever I have looks like it's supposed to on the outside but the mechanicals not so much, when I bought my 65 Mercury I decided to leave it alone since it's from the era it can handle the highways. I like them all.
