  1. nvmnd, i think i figured it out, i believe that it is the carburetor accelerator pump that is out of whack. thanks anyway
  2. my '70 skylark custom has this hesitation that occurs, just when you start to get on the gas, and i have looked in the car's documents, and found out that the car has been doing this since 1987! ( i just recently bought the car) The previous owner says that he rebuilt the carb, thinking that the problem was in the carb. It continues to happen, so i am considering going with a new carb, probably a 4-bbl. i would really rather just fix the hesitation, rather than go through the large expense of buying a new carb for it; if this is a common problem, or anybody knows what the problem is, i would be grateful for a reply! Any help would be appreciated!
  3. trying to find a new 4-bbl carb and a manifold for my 70' skylark's 350, but i really dont know the slightest idea of where to start. I see all of these carburetors in parts magazines, but most of the terminology means nothing to me! Im not sure whether to go with holley or edelbrock, and i have heard several of their faults and advantages, but i cant figure out what cfm i should get. i also don know which manifold i would get, since it would have to be compatible with the carb. know any quality carbs??? thanks
  4. Ive had trouble finding a paint that replicates the original chrome of the car. (1970 skylark) This is just for the dash. The silver paint on the edges of the gauge cluster have faded or rubbed off, and i havent found any sort of paint that is as reflective as the original that was used. If u can tell me where to find such paint, or even the name of it, it would be a REALLY big help! thanks!
  5. I am trying to find a muffler for my 70 skylark 350, but have not been successful in figuring out which one to use. I would like a low rumble while going down the street, but not too loud that the neighbors get upset . i have looked at flowmaster's 50 series, but i am not sure if it will fit. I think that the 50 series sounds the best, because i have heard some, but i need to know if it will fit (i am putting in dual-exhaust). If u know if it might fit, id appreciate replies. any information is appreciated. thanks
  6. the tread on my 1970 buick skylark tires are badly balding, and need to find replacements. i am looking for something with that 'sporty' GS look. The wheels are 14" x 7", and im just looking for soemthing that is pretty wide, but not wide enough that it touches the wheel wells. modern radials are ok. please help!
  7. trying to find gs or skylark grille (or anything compatible) to fit my 1970 skylark. I really need to find one, since my skylark currently has no grille at all! Any info on where to find such a part would be really appreciated! thanks!
  8. I have a '70 skylark and need to know if '70 GS parts are compatible for restoration etc. Skylark parts are hard to come by, and wondering if i can use GS parts on the skylark instead. Any advice, comments, etc. would be much appreciated. Thanks!
