  1. Its great no one wants an old 4-dr huge V8 monstrocity. Even 70s isn't old enough yet I guess. But look at that...so much car for the money....just as worthy as anything else, they hold up...and cmon that's classy that's got so much style, unlike every new sedan that in my eyes anyway, is approaching a "semicircle on wheels".

I'd buy that if nothing else to experience the ride. I bet it can't get much better living-room-sofa-like than a 70s high end car like a Buick or Caddy.

And I didnt even notice until now that it was a 455 car!!!! Awesome double-super bonus points. I'd probably have to find a way to restrain myself from really opening up that exhaust. Probably would sound downright evil. (yes I would want to listen to a hellish rumble in a fluffy luxury car. I am *that* insane. laugh.gif )

Oh man that's miserable. HATE sap. Definitely gonna second the goo-gone. I was just bustin' on ya hehe. Anything can happen, I'm sure people have had vehicles damaged/keyed/something the day it rolled out of the paint shop! Makes you worry...

Hey just wondering....you familair with the band "Poets Of The Fall"? A friend of mine got me into them...couple of REALLY good songs...apparently they're out of Helsinki he says. Hard rock band actually, I don't know where your interest is, but I just figured I'd see if you heard of them. Are they well-known, popular? </div></div>

    Paul,

I know the band, but never seen them live. Last time I was at concert I saw W.A.S.P. (last summer) .. Well, somehow all the "old" hard rock bands come to Finland often... I just heard that Whitesnake is here soon!! (Saw them couple of years ago too!!)

You should try to search "Negative","HIM" and "Nightwish" from youtube as well. They are finnish also.

I guess one of the most popular finnish bands of all time were "Hanoi Rocks" (with Michael Monroe). They have pretty good stuff.

I guess Hanoi Rocks my all time favorite of finnish bands. Not QUITE like Sinatra though.. !!

    </div></div>

    Cool!!!!!! Will do.

Whitesnake!? Niiiiiiiiiice. That's pretty awesome, didn't even know they were still....together or anything actually haha.

Talking about guitars/guitarists, I saw something I'd never seen before and liked it( I never knew he could play like that, even though I knew his music!! ):

Yeah why the HELL do people say that? I've encountered more people than I'm comfortable with who confuse those two...

  6. The discussion comes up time and time again but I would think...because, as stated, leaded gas didn't come into use until the '50s due to high compression engines....guess it actually worked as an octane booster?....then especially Pre-War stuff...ought to be fine. Some still insist valve seats recede...so the stuff's cheap enough...I buy it. But I don't worry if I forget to or run out or something. Just keep on drivin. Shes tough I know it smile.gif

Paul...are you sure you weren't born a generation or two out of your proper placement in the space-time continuum? You don't seem like you belong in a 20 year old body...at least compared to many of the Gen-Y or later punks we have around here. cool.gif

I'm surprised you haven't heard me make the remark already!!! laugh.gif Believe me I love hearing all the stories from people at shows, and I HATE hearing them at the same time. Oh well...at least THEY got to enjoy it all!!!

    Oh and...DUCK SEAASON!!! FIRE!!! hahahahahahaah

  8. Wow! That's neat. I...feel like...maybe. Don't recall seeing many that included him driving. *hops on youtube* haha

I'm glad that I'm pretty much JUST old enough to remember the good old Looney Tunes as well as others like Tom and Jerry, that WERE my Saturday morning. Nope, kids today have nothing but CRAP to watch.

Do you believe it? I find myself and my friends talking about "the good old days", probably 10 years ago or so if that. I'm <span style="font-weight: bold">20</span>!!!!! And we're already talking like that. But seriously. Miss that stuff...and sad to see what passes for T.V. now....

Oh NEVER FEAR I knew full well about this thing! I've used it before, just to be safe. Great thing to have!!!! Kinda helps if you dont forget that you shut it OFF though!!! haha

My mom tells me ALL the time "Stop forgetting things! You're WAY to young to do that, stop it now!"

And lest anyone worry....don't use any drugs don't drink...nuttin. I'm just 100% pure Florida fresh-squeezed not-from-concentrate..."boneheaded" sometimes, as good ol' dad used to love to say laugh.gif

  10. ...make sure the switch is ON!!! Ugh!!!

In my case, the kill switch! I think my dad put it in, a small switch under the dash that cuts the starter circuit for security no doubt.

Dating back all the way to about more than a month ago, just before the car came off the road for the winter, suddenly I could not start the thing. Had to get a BAR out and move the starter engagement arm myself to activate the motor and crank it over. Found that I could jump the contacts on the solenoid relay to the battery....crank!!!

I've been looking at the wiring diagrams, trying this trying that...reminding myself how SIMPLE these cars are! I sand the contacts on the relays in the regulator, no dice. Check the vacuum switch wires, clean...practically EVERYthing, tighten these things as well.

Today I just happened to take a look under the dash, the harness goes in there, thinking....maybe...theres a bad ground..in there for some reason?

Spot the kill switch. Wonder if it's in the right position. Get ready to bang my head against the wall. Flip it. Turn the ignition on. Hit the pedal. Cranks. Proceed to....bang my head against the wall.

I was SO worried my super-cool pedal start was broken and I'd join the ranks of many buicks with aged and worn out starter circuits. Good thing it still works like a charm. Not a good thing that my brain is shutting down!!!! LOL

Simple stuff...simple stuff...ALWAYS start there. Just another learning experience with this thing. Definitely not the first, and certainly not the last either for sure.

  11. Yea myself I came back to my car once it was nightfall at the one Guptill's cruise this summer, to find a business card with a note from lentinello himself saying "wed love to take some photos of this car" I called, answering machine, left a message with my name and number....never heard back. Doesn't bother ME at all...just wonder what happened...hope they didn't want it too badly!!! Car's all put away now!!! laugh.gif
