  1. Duesenberg on the left with Packard on the right! But, where are the chrome/stainless wire wheels? Capt. Harley😉 "Skirts are for Women and not Car Fenders"
  2. 1932 was the worst year of the depression. Capt. Harley😉 "Skirts are for Women and not Car Fenders"
  3. Instruments/dash and hubcaps say it is a 1930 Chevrolet. Capt. Harley😉 Skirts are for women and not car fenders!

  5. I think it is a late '29 626 or 633 roadster?!? Cowl lights were not standard on those models.🤔 Capt. Harley😉
  6. A 1934 Ford, I think?!?🤔 Capt. Harley😉 "Skirts are for Women and not Car Fenders"
  7. This is the Fireman's side of a Shay geared locomotive. Primarily designed for logging and mining railroads. Most either burned wood or oil this one is coal fired. Ford owned two of them I believe. The Engineer's side of the Shay has all the steam cylinders, drive shafts and geared wheels on the two trucks.🤩 Capt. Harley😉 "Skirts are for Women and not Car Fenders"
  8. Car looks like it could be a '29-'30 Chevy 3-window coupe. Taillight appears to be a '31 & later replacement. Headlight buckets are painted witch match the '29-'30 Chevy. Capt. Harley😉
  9. Only in my dreams! Good for you and make sure you sell the parts for a reasonable price to fellow car guys. Capt. Harley😉 "Skirts are for Women not Car Fenders"
  10. M60 Main Battle Tank while in training to be a Tanker (11E20) in the US Army. At Fort Knox, Kentucky, 1971. The tank, from what I remember, had a 2 speed automatic tranny, power brakes and power steering with a steering handlebar like a kids tricycle. Combat loaded they were around 55-60 tons!?!? It's been a while so this might not be right, but close. Capt. Harley😉 "Skirts are for Women and not Car Fenders"
  11. Back around 1968 some buddies and I (high school kids) were out looking for old cars around Deland, Fla. We had heard about the remains of an old auto junkyard off of Highway 441 within Deland. Well, we found it or what was left of it. There was two or three streets intersecting what was left of the yard. No cars but piles and piles of junk car parts. I specifically remember seeing what looked like late 20's Pierce-Arrow front fenders with all the headlight goodies in them just laying in the dirt. We also saw the open door of a shed full of chrome pieces and parts. Not knowing what to do, dogs were barking and an old lady had stepped out of a shack and was giving us a dirty look, we left. We talked about going back but never did. Knowing Deland I'm sure there are many McMansions on the property now.☹️ Capt. Harley😉 "Skirts are for Women and not Car fenders"
  12. I had a 1929 Model-A phaeton many years ago that when I got it. It had double sided white walls from Coker. All the white walls were a dull yellow and nothing I used would make them white again. So I called Coker and asked them what I could do. At first all I got were laughs from various people at Coker. Saying that they haven't sold those tires in years. One person, a lady, said to use wet/dry sandpaper on them. So the 'ol lady and I commenced too wet sand all (car had sidemounts) the white walls. We used 420 and maybe 600 grit paper. It made one heck of a mess in the drive way, but I drank multiple brews during the process so it wasn't to bad. It worked too.😊 Capt. 13. In 1929 Chevrolet ran steel disk wheels as standard. But wood and in later '29 wire wheels were an option from the factory. I believe the wood wheels used a special rear brake drum versus the disk wheels. Not sure on the wire wheels. The '29 Chevy rear drums were: external contracting shoes as the service brake and internal expanding shoes as the emergency brake. Capt. 14. When I would tell people about learning to ride a motorcycle. I would say: "Everybody out there is trying to kill you! Stay aware or it will be curtains for you!" Capt. Harley😉 "When Men were Men, Women were Women, Cars were Cars and everybody like it that way" I apologize for polluting the original message.
  15. I bet this up-side down 1929 Model-A Ford "Tudor". Is a Ford dealers idea of an advertising gimmick. "A" Models are very rugged cars!🥰 Capt. Harley😉 Back in the day when Men were Men, Women were Women, cars were cars and everybody liked that way!
  16. The car behind it is a 1929 or 1930 Chevrolet coach. The cowl lights are different for both years and were factory accessories. Capt. Harley "Back in the day Men were Men, Women were Women, Cars were Cars and everybody liked it that way."
  17. I've had a bout a 50% success rate. For restoring the Moto-Meter thermometer fluid level from the top back down to the normal level. I used boiling water, ice cubes and about a 3 ft length of heavy duty twine. First you dip the Moto-Meter stem into the ice water for while. Then into the boiling water for a few minutes. Next tie the twine to the disassembled Meter on the top. Last but not least you spin the heck out of the Meter. Holding on to the end of the twine so the centrifugal force of the spinning will bring the thermometer fluid back down to the normal level. The boiling water and ice water are used to help shock and free up the thermometer fluid. With the spinning forcing it back down, hopefully... I think I read about doing this little "trick" somewhere in the archives of this forum. Capt. Harley😉 "Back when Men were Men, Women were Women and Cars were Cars. And everybody liked it that way."
  18. The girl in the center of the hood. Is imitating a popular accessory hood ornament at the time. One of the names for it was the "Speed Nymph". A 1929 Western Auto parts catalog called it "The Diving Girl". Capt. Harley😉 "Back in the day when Men were Men, Women were Women, and Cars were Cars. And everybody liked it that way."
  19. Wire wheels are definitely not correct for 626/633 series cars. Look like later 8/9 series wheels. Capt. Harley
  20. Ouch!☹️ Capt. Harley😉 "To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth..." - J. Cooper
  21. I believe German made Model-A's came with disc wheels. I missed a set of 19" disc wheels for my '31 Model-A some years back at Hershey. Captain Harley😉 "To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth" - J. Cooper
  22. At first I thought that was one of the 634 Speedsters, but didn't speeders come with a non-folding windshield? Also, notice the hood door. Optional 3-door hood for the 626 & 633? Capt. Harley😉
  23. 1929 Chevrolet Sport Coupe. Wood wheels were optional in '29. Capt. Harley😉
  24. Anybody know where this "Orange County" Park is or was? Capt. Harley😉
