  1. Looks good from here. My 39 wheel is the darker maroon as Earl stated.
  2. Your picture in post #592 is right on to what mine looked like - missing louver(s) and skinny whites.
  3. That may have to happen. That may have to happen.
  4. My 37s tank after being cleaned. Sent an email to Moyer's. Waiting for a reply. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
  5. I believe mention has also been made that a 69 Camaro tank can be converted. How about the 38 Chevy tank for conversion? 14 gallons, though, vs our 17.
  6. I got the same answer as philipj when I talked and emailed a picture of my tank to Tanks Inc. Parts Book says 37 series 40 and 60 share one tank. 38 Series 40 and 60 share one tank. Seems to me a case could be made for Tanks Inc. to manufacture one tank with making provision to have the filler neck attached in the proper position at a radiator shop in the buyer's location. Have read about the Nova tank as well.
  7. Instructions only gave a part number for the hand throttle adapter. No pictures. Pictures posted are for using the original throttle linkage on the replacement carbs that apparently were supplied with the replacement engines.
  8. From instructions sent with replacement engines in the late 40s and early 50s.
  9. No skirts! Bad enough when I see chromed ones on 58 Limiteds. Like your idea to put the$$ toward wide whites. Not gangster walls, though. They look dumpy on 58s. 2 1/2 to 3 inches max. I've enjoyed your posts. Your Limiteds bring back great memories of my 755 known as the bottomless wonder. Plywood trunk floor etc. ; but never let me down on BCA tours and 2 National Meets in the 70s. Eventually it made it's way to Gene Reynolds and was totally dismantled to supply spares to keep other 58s running.
  10. Many of the replacement carbs did not have the linkage for the hand throttle. Literature I have indicates such hand linkage adapters as well as adapters for use of original throttle linkage on replacement carbs were available. I have never seen an actual piece, though. Anybody have one?
  11. Definitely overkill. Glad they removed it in production.
  12. Gary: Hope you had a great birthday! Thanks for all your posts. I'm working on a 37 Model 40C. Dave Rex
  13. Dorman TM 3626 Master cylinder kit. 1937-1955 Specials
  14. For 1939 front, rear, and side window trim was standard on Centurys and optional on Specials per a factory accessory brochure I have.
  15. Steel insert as told to me by my 95 year old father in law who worked on them in his father's Graham Paige dealership.
  16. I'm behind on expressing condolences on Bob's passing. Met him at Danvers in 2011when he displayed the 54 Landau. "Sit down,Dave, and let me tell you about this car". You'd a thought we'd known each other for years. We've lost a gentleman and a bit of the color in our hobby.
  17. Agree with Terry. 28-41 Chassis Manual validates his finding. Visually the valve cover went to a 2 stud hold down for 39 (although some later 38's starting with engine #3525209)came this way as well.
  18. Agree with Earl(Dynaflash 8 ) on dipstick location. This block would seem to indicate a 1940 or later. Serial # you posted is correct for 1939. I have to wonder though if this block has been restamped. Double check what is on the block and look for any signs of alteration. Is your car's title registered with the vehicle serial number stamped on the frame or was it titled with the motor number? Some states did that which could indicate that if this engine was replaced, someone restamped the original motor number to match the title. Can you post a larger view of the engine for the experts here to verify if it truly is a later block? This is puzzling; but everyone here likes to dig in to these things.
