  1. Congrats on your recent acquisition, Dave! You should've dropped by on your trip home, I have a couple new headliners, and just got a TECH-I scantool. We can now diagnose ANY Reatta quirk! How 'bout postin' sum pix?!?
  2. check the body fuse(s), they're the most likely candidate, since none of the switches, nor the remote work.
  3. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> Jim Finn had it. </div></div> SOooo, Does this mean you're no longer gonna keep an "<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF0000">I</span></span>" out for us?
  4. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> My "family" is up to 5 and I am still looking for cousin "Polo". </div></div> You're halfway to double-digits Steve, keep up the good work! I finally found Black Beauty's little sister last year at the BCA Nationals, in Flint, MI. Shame there wasn't an opportunity for a "Reunion".
  5. I saw Al's Silver Arrow, when he dropped-by the farm to see an '88 LeSabre T-Type behind the barn. He decided to get a Reatta instead. I loved his Riv, and would love to own one of these beautiful cars. One of the nicest Buicks to ever grace my driveway, that was'nt a Reatta. I first met Alan at the 2005 BCA Midwest regionals, hosted by the Chicago chapter in Lincolnshire, IL. He awarded me each of the 3 trophies I took home for my 3 Reatta entries that day.
  6. In some cases, if your windows/windshield is "Vandalized" some insurance comapnies will replace it free of cost to you. Sometimes vandals will throw a beer bottle, (or a brick!), thru the windshield of a parked car for excitement, warranting immediate replacement.
  7. I have a service manual, or two. send me a PM, Richard.
  8. So sorry to hear of your Trans Sport's demise, Roger. I own a '95 Silhouette, by Olds - pretty much the same vehicle. My dogs and I love it. They love the power door, and it's low jump-in height, and I love the 3800 drivetrain and hitch. I pulled a Probe on a dolly with it and decided I need to buy myself a dolly as it's next option. It pulls with ease, and tracks straight, braking positively with a load, and a car in tow. The HD trans would be great for an S/C Reatta.
  9. Unlock the passenger door from the outside with the key, this will disable security system alarm mode. Works with most cars with factory anti-theft systems. My horns just keep <span style="font-style: italic">Blowin' in the Wind</span>!
  10. How did you do that, padgett? Your slideshow thumbnail is cooool! How many cars can it store? I like your Silhouette, I have a dark blue '95, w/3800 & power door. My dogs love the power door, and it's low leap-in height. I love it's capabilities, with a hitch, great 3800 fuel economy, tinted glass, and a rockin' GM tunebox. The only feature I miss is power rear windows, were they available for '95?
  11. Thanx 4 the kind words, Dave! I'm considering gettin' a daily driver soon. Panikmekanik drove "Bambi-Killer" straight thru the first 2 winters she had it, leaving her 4x4 Kia Sportage for sale, on the curb. She felt safer, and more confident in her Reatta then ever in that Kia. The Sportage sat thru the winter, then sold-short later that spring. She was happy to see it go, and never looked back. Black Beauty is a different story, she's only been driven in Winter, (Winter, WI), ONCE! This trip and photo were taken in September, in the place of Panikmekanik's birth. This little town is sooo far north, they call it "Winter" there year 'round!
  12. Corrosives, (SALT), wreak havok on all cars living in the "Rust Belt", Closely inspect ALL the lines, especially at the leading edge of the left-rear fenderwell. After I replaced a bad fuel return line, (on "BlakTop Trikster" my '89 coupe), the main rear brake line blew shortly thereafter. Best policy is to replace ALL, after one goes bad, to avoid any hair-raising suprises down, or on, the road.
  13. The only sound I've heard relating to beauty's horns, is the laughing of the folks pointing and grinning at them.
  14. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Came across the northern US, Maine down to Mass/ NY/ Penn, Chicago, up to Fargo, ND and then headed N/W back up into Canada. </div></div> On your next tour thru the upper midwest, drop by the farm! We're only 8 miles from I-94, in lower Cheezeland, just 1 hour from Chi-town.
  15. Welcome the online "World of Reatta" and congratulations on your recent acquisition of a '91 Reatta! Be sure to visit the Buick Club of America website, and submit your application for membership. Then, apply for membership to the BCA/Reatta Division, dedicated exclusively to Reatta owners. AND.... Please post some pix of your Reatta for us all to enjoy.

I take no offense, personally, 'cause I know I'm not an idiot. I reverted to the above infantile statement to depict how sophomoronic the quoted line is. This ain't a sandlot. Personal insults are'nt homogenous with the culture here. If you really want to make your point, then buy that Reatta, and put a humongous photo of it in your signature. But, if you think a C5, or C6 is more valuable, then go get one, or just join a Corvette forum, and see how THEY like your humongous signature photo of a Caprice, plastered all over thier site. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">And since I know Craigslist.org has a way or erasing things in a week, </div></div> ...or maybe the author deleted this posting, either because the car sold, or they got too many responses, and decided to keep it.

  18. I understand, Daniel. I can't swing it either. But, YOU STILL DESERVE IT! I remember when you were still in Iraq, posting Q&A with us here in the states. You're a true enthusiast, and War Veteran(Hero) - who deserves the best our country has to offer. I'd bet the seller would offer you a much lower price than anyone else, (unless he's a FLAMER, who hates military), based upon your service to HIS country.
  19. This IS the Reatta discussion forum. ONLY Reattae should be added to signatures, anything else is SCARELIDGE, and the poser(poster) tarred-n-feathered!! Y'know, all your posts, forever will have that CHEVY in them. Seems silly for a BUICK REATTA forum, does'nt it? Go get that red/tan drop-top, in Seattle- before Daniel does!
  20. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> Last November in Las Vegas, GM sold the last Reatta convertible (1991) from their collection, that was vin 900622 a black car with red interior, it had 81 miles and sold for 18,500 (no title) in my opinion, this is a more significant car than the Select Sixty. </div></div> Yup, Black Beauty's little sister, the only other documented Black/Flame Red '91 left of only SEVEN built. She now resides in the private collection of Nicola Bulgari, world-renowned jewelry designer, who designed dash elements for the XLR. I met his rep. at the 2008 BCA Nationals Banquet, thanks to Daves89. Mr. Bulgari had a different '91, but let it go and acquired this EXTREMELY RARE car, the last handcrafted Reatta convertible. He likes to collect the last-made of any car line. And, with his relationship with GM, he got a barn-burner of a deal, at 1/2 original sticker price, for a truly PRICELESS car. I paid MORE than that for Black Beauty! Those who've visited the Sloan Museum, on the 2008 BCA show grounds, saw a part of Mr. Bulgari's collection. ALL the cars at the Sloan during the show were HIS!!! I wonder how much he'd sell her for.?.???????
  21. Breaking news, Jon! I just got this email from SCM, and wanted to share it with y'all. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> GM Cars Back for Sale at B-J West Palm Beach, Florida: The following statement was released by Barrett-Jackson this morning: "The Acting Administrator of NHTSA, Ron Medford, has communicated to Barrett-Jackson that previous issues concerning the sales of the GM Collection have been resolved and all sales can go forward." Reportedly, negotiations between GM, Barrett-Jackson and NHTSA led to an agreement, emphasizing that the cars being sold on "salvage" or "not able to be registered for the road" status were under no circumstances to be registered for road use. Midway through Thursday's collector car sale, representatives of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) forced Barrett-Jackson to stop the sale of certain cars from the GM Heritage Fleet, due to concerns about buyers attempting to register non-qualifying vehicles for street use. Find out more about Barrett-Jackson, NHTSA, and GM.</div></div> I'm glad to see this issue has been resolved, these cars need to be available to collectors, whether they can be titled/driven, or not. If GM were forced to actually turn them in for scrap metal recycling, it would be a shameful day in automotive history.
  22. I generally use the 9v battery test sequence, touch the connectors to your tongue, and see if it tastes HOT. All kidding aside, check for latent old spill damage to main connector(s) under the ashtray/cupholder area. Disconnect all connectors, clean with QD. I'm sure Pagett will chime-in with a test for you, all the inverters may be bad. I may have some.
  23. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">this is a bit steep. </div></div> IMHO, not really. It's VALUE far exceeds it's PRICE. Although it is the most common color combo for Reatta cars, overall, this is a 1991 convertible. Less than 200 were released for public sale in 1991, the lowest number of ANY line of american cars released since 1959! With under 50k miles, this car should sell for at least original sticker price as a minimum. Check out how many Red/Tan were released, and how many are left, with similar miles. It's a very rare car indeed! Black Beauty, (the last Black/Flame Red 1991 Reatta convertible on the road), has nearly identical odometer reading, and would cost you 2X sticker. Of course, there's not another Black/Flame '91 drop-top available, anywhere. If anyone desires a '91 convert, this is the one you've been waiting for. Priced to mirror a late-model personal luxury/sportcar with same mileage. You could spend the same amount on a G6, GTO, etc., etc. but they are NOT rare cars, IMHO. Once again, THANK YOU for your honorable service to our country, and the world, D-A-N-I-E-L!!!!! YOU DESERVE THIS CAR, If it makes you happy, Dan - GET IT!! AND... Hit 'em up for a military discount!
  24. Welcome! I'd be proud to serve as your sponsor to the BCA/Reatta Division. Owners of exclusive collectible cars should be members of the exclusive car clubs their cars qualify them for! Post some pix of your new acquisition! Happy Motoring! I hope to meet you at a BCA event, the Nats are in Colorado Springs this year, a wonderful, scenic drive- meant for Reatta. Like previously mentioned, flush your brake fluid, this should be an annual excersize for ANY car with anti-lock brakes.
  25. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> Red is a my favorite color, so save that one. Why do you want ot expose one of these rare cars to salt and snow though? I am sure there are plenty of good beater for about $1,000 or so. </div></div> I can send you details on a nice red/tan Reatta, so you can CHANGE YOUR SIGNATURE PHOTO!
