thats what i thought at first but than concluded that maybe it's the voltage regulator. but don't really know how to check it. and what it entails to change it as far as checking for polarity ect. been a long time

have a 1954 chevy 6v system, cannot get battery to stay charged. any suggestions?? should i change it to a 12v system and if so how do i do it. thanks help would be appreciated
