  1. This would be for all turbo Dodges and TC's.
  2. I'm lazy. try the mile markers on interstate at 60 mph. Mile a minute.
  3. Another reason for a boost gauge. http://www.users.bigpond.com/ergoff/vac1.htm The hardest part is shoving the vac line through the firewall. You can tap into the wire for the shifter light almost easily.
  4. Johnson salvage. about 70 miles south of Atlanta has a TC. I don't know what is there. Heard about the car two years ago. Country place so it should still be there.
  5. http://www.pbase.com/rmscott/smp_performance Did I forget that was in a 1/4 mile? At 9,000 rpm???? <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
  6. the extreme hybrid. http://mishilo.image.pbase.com/v3/24/16624/1/50841171.IM002641800x536.jpg 800 hp 2.2 174 mph at 9,000 rpm
  7. I know that place. I went there in '73 to get jets for my twin weber pinto. I listened to the German service manager telling a customer that his "new to him" Mercedes burned a quart of oil every 500 miles because it had soooo much power. The owner was bouncing in the seat he was soooo excited. He had to get back to the office to tell his buddies how fast his car was. Oh, I called a Fiat Abarth dealer and racer in Daytona Beach for the jets. (FAVS?) Told them what I had and they guessed the right jets. 30 mpg at 90 mph. Yep, that's when they dropped the speed limit to 55 mph. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
  8. See the attached pic. 87 Lebaron GTS with headlight blackouts TC grill with Chrysler Emblem, and front airdam on floor. Note this IS going to be a hybrid +400hp engine 2.2 turbo. I'm going to have a decal on the trunk that says "100hp x 4 cyl". Actually there isn't one good thing on TV and I'm killing time. Oops forgot to read the newsletter.
  9. First tell us how. I just heard from someone racing that you should not be on the brakes when the car touches the ground again. What is your tall tale? Probably a job for a good mechanic. Have them check the mounts for the k frame also. They are not very beefy. When a 6" curb attacked my wife's car, the mount was crushed along with the k frame, wheel and tire. ( 87 Lebaron GTS) Thank goodness.
  10. I'm think of making a front air dam similar to this attachment.
  11. The spark plugs on top are the 16 valve engine. Yours is the 8 valve TII engine. They came both ways. The automatic transmssions came with 8 valve engines.
  12. The Quaife/OBX differentials work in the 568 5 speed also. If you have the 16 valve, you can smoke BOTH front tires at the same time.
  13. The engine is a Chrysler 2.2 TII. If the mechainc doesn't know how to order spark plugs, the first thing is to find a different mechanic. You can contact Jose at webmaster@eurotuning.us He travels back and forth. Let him know where the car is. He may know a mechanic capable of working on engines......in that area. herre is a link to an owner mechanic in Mexico City. mario@turbosmx.com.
  14. I found the page with All the modifications. http://66.78.24.116/Mopar%20Pages/Tranny%20upgrades%20detail.htm He has extra torque converters made up. PM him on turbododge.com. Also has the quaife obx installation on the page. He is running a twin turbo V6 !!!! I may get one those one day.
  15. Jeff, just remembered your directions on the manual boost controller. The only car that came with an automatic and full TII was the 87 Shelby Lancer. I think Mopar learned that the 413 wouldn't take 175 hp. Now however, you can modify it to take 4-500 hp. http://www.turbovan.net/Trans3.html The weak differential. http://www.hometown.aol.com/mopar1mad/caseplug.html Line pressure adjustment plug http://ripcuda.50megs.com/shift.html shift improvement http://users.mich.com/~stevien1/trans/valvebod.html another page http://www.turbododge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75242&highlight=quaife installing Obx torque biasing differential. I can't find the page with pics for installing the quaife or OBX diff in the 413. It requires a spacer. Nobody has started manufacture of the spacer yet.You should also get a better torque converter. FDWperformance sells a steet strip one. There is another page about installing extra clutch packs. I'll post the rest of the links when I find them. I don't know if Hemi is up on this sort of thing. The mopartek link is Cliff Ramsdell that will sell you the complete setup.
  16. There is probably a screen filter at the bottom of the reservoir. The water should shoot out of the tubes without the nozzle on.
  17. Talked to somebody not on here that bought a Florida car on Ebay guaranteed to be perfect. Considering he paid 1295+500 shipping, he got a good parts car. He is now in the process of recovering his money. Buyer beware.
  18. I would check with Hemi for a good shop in CA. A lot of "factory rebuilds list the same transmission for Naturally aspirated N/A and turbos. The turbo has a 3,500 rpm stall speed. IE you can rev to 3,500 standing still. Not recommended but it means the turbo will spool faster. With the wrong converter, it will be a slug. Unfortunately the two best TD transmission rebuilders are Cliff Ramsdell in Ct. and Joe dizwill in Canada. They can build the 413 for 400-500 hp with a torque biasing diferential which is useless unless you need it. I agree with the statement about AMMCO.
  19. If you have a rough idling and balky engine, check the shutter wheel on distributor for looseness. It's supposed to be nonreplaceable. You are supposed to replace distributor. the shutter wheel is held in place with melted plastic "rivets". You can repair with epoxy to tighten it up, or I used liquid metal rubbed into locator holes. It's an easy check if you open the distributor. Pull the cap and rotor and hall effect sensor and you will see it. If there is any play between the plastic and the metal part, it needs repair.
  20. It's not covered. They recommend junking tires after so many years. Try Pirellis. I love the all around handling and ride. Had trouble with goodrich beads sealing on the rims. The rubber is too hard. Goodrich used to be my favorite for handling till I had that problem.
  21. Dremel tool and jewelers files to finish in aluminum
  22. Missed "common block" at end of post. What number is your car? I thought all 89's were pre common block. Mine is #1295 and is precommon.
  23. There are two thingies on the stalk for the oil. The round bulbous one with the round electrical connector is the oil pressure sending unit. the smaller one with the tab is the oil pressure switch. The sending unit is the one that controls the gauge. Which one did you replace?????
  24. Mistake was going to Autozoned. My parts store manager has a BIG black book. After 30 years he knows where to get things I never heard of.
