  1. About a year ago someone had a problem on a TC in Zurich.
  2. [color:"blue"] <span style="font-weight: bold">BLUE</span>
  3. The pulldown motor is the same as some Olds and Cads. I never checked what it looks like even though I have an Olds Cutlass supreme with auto trunk to peek at.
  4. In addition to below, check the plugs to see what color they are. From below I gather that it is one and or two cyl that has a problemn for starters. There could also be other problems but get rid of the code first. Good time to clean and use dielctric grease on all the connectors for the engine. The injector harness gets a lot of heat and you might have a corroded and toasted wire. http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/fault/code26.html Quote Fault Code 26 Synopsis Description: Injector driver circuit 1 open or shorted Power loss light: Off Limp-in mode: None Possible Causes Bad connection or wiring - Check the wiring and connections to injectors 1 and 2 in the injector harness (above the fuel rail) and between the harness and the power module (or SMEC) and the injector contol lines between the logic module and power module. Clean and regrease any corroded connectors with dielectric grease and repair any shorts. Injector driver transistor failure - Check the injector signals coming from the power module (or SMEC). They should rise to about 12V when the injector is off and drop close to 0V when the injector is on. If they are out of spec, you may need to replace the power module. Diagnostic Method Trigger Parameters - Near 0V or near 12V not detected when the injector driver is turned on or off, respectively Results If Component Fails Fault code 26 is stored. Unquote Remember, following my advice may warp your mind...OK Hemi???
  5. 1 boost builds under load. It won't show much in neutral. 2 Make sure the wastegate rod is attached to the swingvalve. OK just so 50 people don't email Hemi asking about wastegate and swingvalve, I will explain. The swingevalve has a little lever on top of the exhaust side of of the turbo. It dumps the exhaust gases when the boost is too high. It is controlled by the wastegate which is controlled by a vac line. There is a rod from the swingvalve to the wastegate. The rod is held onto the swingvalve by either a cicleclip or a very small cotter pin. These get lost or rot away. If the rod is off, the exhaust gases are dumped past the turbo and you get no boost. If the rod is is off the swingvalve lever, see if you can feel a groove in the rod that it goes on. If no groove, it had a cotter pin that rotted out. You cannot install a new cotter pin bedause part of it is still in the hole. The solution is to get a little pushnut from the hardware store.
  6. Plus one on rubber gas lines. Make sure you use High pressure hose not regular fuel hose. Get the right kind of new clamps also, not the type for radiator hoses. Could also be a fuel injector leaking externally. If smell is at rear, replace rubber hoses at tank and filter back there. [color:"red"] Remember my recommendations may warp your mind. Ok Hemi?? <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Since you are new here. That is a private joke. [color:"red"]
  7. " As you can see from my screen name, I like two-seaters, but the Reattas are getting to be incredibly unreliable." Yep. Nothing that can't be fixed like touchscreens. Plus TC's are prettier. Neighbor has Reatta. The TC club has Newsletters that cover the nuisance? problems. The Yahoo group has links for repairs. Walk if it's rusted or wrecked. I prefer the 4 cyl 8 valve for performance mods and reliability. Mileage doesn't bother me since I know good mechanics and machine shops. The abs is different and can cause problems but parts ARE available through the club. As for my opinions, Hemi Anderson (the TC god) and I agreed that I should add that my opinions could be dangerous to your mental health <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
  8. Jeepers!!! My neighbor has a Reatta and I hate the lines on it. Plus six months ago I almost got in a cadillac before I noticed it was too big and fat. Who had that front end first Chrysler or Cadillac?? I don't know which Cad it was but the front end was a clone of the TC front. Headlights, bumper, grille were very close, just bigger. Neighbor's has 20,000 on it and it didn't sell for 3,000. I understand there is a shortage of touchpad screens for their advanced technology.
  9. that cleaner is flammable. It roasted the wiring in my garden tractor. Use diaelectrice grease. Also check the ground wire from the inector harness to the fuel rail.
  10. Welcome to TC world. I knew it would seduce you. (I won't tell anyone that you bought it to cannibalize) AKA the Looneytuner td.com
  11. http://www.backesfamily.com/TCProjects/ welcome. I have my retired dentist shopping for one now.
  12. Winter fuel mixes in smog areas WILL drop fuel mileage but I don't think that much. There is a difference in programming on the automatic and manual computers also. If that part wasn't reprogrmmed also, a manual car will idle high with an autmatic computer. (compensates for Torque converter drag) I'd go with Twin cams check and clean the ais also. Not a logical diagnosis, but two common problems for your two symptoms.
  13. I think you answered your own question. "Sure runs nice with the hotted up SMEC." If you want the mileage back and even more zoom get FWD's 3" exhaust with cat and muffler. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> AND TU's 3" swingvalve. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> The cal is using the gas. The reduction of backpressure will get it back and give you the full performance of the cal.
  14. I have seen it several times in the morning coming and going. Is it the same one that was sitting on 270 about 3 months ago??
  15. Well, I'm driving an Olds Cutlass with a buggy (transverse) spring in the rear. Kind of like an anti-antisway bar.
  16. TC's will be as good as any mopar in the snow. However they don't LIKE snow. They have a built in defense system that shorts the power seat system to YOUR seat to teach you proper respect for Italian cars. As for the new leather smell, I'll see if I can bottle some for you. I have the new leather but haven't installed it.
  17. hmmm...I know somebody's Christmas present. Congrats.
  18. I guess somebody thought it was a good idea. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MOPAR-CHR...1QQcmdZViewItem happy shopping
  19. No sacrilege. Make a good one though. How about a retractable roof for the in between weather in winter. Nice day but don't want to take the top off. I have thought about a TC trailer. Somebody made one for a GTC convertible. Very cute. Trailer to match for the meets. Better than letting the parts rust away in a yard. PS I'm Catholic so I got sacrilege right. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
  20. The post is 2 1/2 years old. An oldie but goodie. Quote: I have a 4463594 Right Headlight for sale. In perfect condition with the sidemarker lamp $2,500 Unquote. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
