  1. White smake, black smoke? Under hood, out tailpipe? Rebuilt engine, used engine? Just when it starts, when you accelerate, when you let off the gas? More details help.
  2. here is a link to see if state farm resold the car you own without issuing a salvage title after it was totaled. http://www.macon.com/mld/macon/news/nation/11333887.htm There were about 30,000 cars involved in the fraud. Here is the iowa link to the address to send the request for info on your car. http://www.state.ia.us/government/ag/latest_news/releases/jan_2005/State_Farm.html
  3. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...=ADME:B:SS:MT:1 The car WAS from Florida. The drivers seat looks decent. Most of the time it is never shown. Tell your wife you are taking her to Ohio for her birthday. That should keep her confused till she sees it.
  4. I also had to rework the fwd exhaust for a Lebaron GTS. An na engine needs some backpressure. Turbos don't. Read up on turbododge.com and Donovan's Garage for what the 2.2 will do. There is a 458whp for sale for $12,500 right now in Texas.
  5. A little more info since nobody has volunteered. How long has it been since it started? I'm guessing but I think that is a sympton of the HEP (hall effect pickup?) No spark and no gas. The hep is under the rotor in the distrubutor. It has plastic "rivets" that get loose. The first signs are jumping timing with a light, then no start as I recall. The components are the same as any v6 mopar of the same vintage. If you can't find a factory manual, a dealer should be able to diagnose it if they are competent. I'm lucky enough to have a mechanic that has all 3 professional online manuals that I can search. Plus his 45 years of experience. Also try the yahoo sight. Two Very good techs on there. Or the 2 lebaron groups on yahoo, or Turbododge.com has a v6 section.
  6. I saw a yellow tc stuck on the intersate yesterday in St Louis. Almost left a note.
  7. I saw a lonely TC broken down in St.Louis this morning. Obviously the owner hasn't waxed it in a long time. Poor little TC.
  8. They are an added defense, but defensive driving is a bigger help. I drive city interstates in my work. I don't leave till 8:30 because most of the accidents are cleaned up by then. I stay off the road from 2:30-3:30 when high school gets out. I don't drive on "amateur nights" (Friday and Saturday) when the kids like to show off their manhood. Wet blacktop is treated as black ice since a little oil on the pavement can cause total loss of control. If I'm in a double left turn lane with a truck or suv to my left and I can't see to the left, I wait for it to go first in case somebody runs the light at 50. We had a football player in St. Louis kill a woman after hotel function where they got all they could drink for free. His Navigator pulled out of the Adams Mark garage and ran a red light 2 blocks away and broadsided her car. He was recently arrested two years after that for drunk driving again. He was given probation the first time. As for suvs being safer, they are unless the flip. A low center of gravity is not their forte. Yes they go faster in snow, but we all have 4 wheel braking. They just get you into trouble faster in my opinion.
  9. Number one, don't drive it till you are sure you have pressure. If this happened after an oil change, you could have lost most of the oil on the way home. Check to make sure the sending unit plug is on tight. It is a friction fit and can become loose. If this is the case, just pinch the connector slightly for a tight fit. Check the oil level. If all is fine, the auto parts stores replacement should work fine even though different looking. If you still have no oil pressure registeriing, I would have it towed to a good mechanic. The only aftermarket parts that are not recommended are Bosch O2 sensors, and Felpro head gaskets.
  10. Until the pros post, I think there were TSB mods called for in this engine that might not have been performed. The valve seats drop and the valve seals leak. You would be better to fix the original engine for matching numbers in twenty years when these go up in value. OR keep the original engine in the garage and wear out a couple others till then. Post where you are and somebody might know a good garage near you that does outstanding work.
  11. HMM.... I can't think of a polite way to respond. Wife-airbag..... Ahhhh..... Nevermind..... <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
  12. In the days of horses you would be arrested for NOT doing this. It is not recommended you do this at home. http://kdka.com/topstories/topstories_story_110085323.html
  13. Well at least that system is common over there.
  14. Somebody in Ca. is missing a Numbered Shelby turbo with our little 4 cylinder engine putting out 350 hp. This is not my car and I would buy it if I had the money and a garage for it. There is $19,000 invested in the humble little car. As with our TC's the value is at bottom right now. If somebody buys it, I promise I will come test drive it for You! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4542036077
  15. I think I heard on some forum that export-import of car parts can be a real hassle without the proper knowledge. Can someone confirm this? Might prevent you from having some Exedrin #2.2 headaches.
  16. I think you're going to have to drop the turbo a little to get to the bolt. Actually if you remove the hood, you can just loosen the turbo and the down pipe, the turbo should drop out of the way, then you can pull the whole head intact with manifolds attached. Two people or engine hoist. You want 005 or 006 MP performance gasket from TU or FWDperformance. You could also drop your slogan and save it for Turbododge.com.
  17. It's not unknown for a rebuilt axle to be bad. I had to replace one after 3 days.
  18. jeff, I just bought a TII Daytona and there IS a double spring there. You can probably get one off any like year turbo in a yard. One day late for April first. I also picked up a one year old Lamborgini for $695 at the same police abandoned vehicle auction.. I found the phone number of the owner in the phone book. The woman answered the phone and I asked her why she didn't pick it up. She said when she came home 3 months ago from grocery shopping, there was a note from her husband. Hi sweety, Things just haven't been good the last few years with us. I flew to Cancun and married my secretary. You can have everything. Just sell my Lambo and send us the money. She said she replied. Hi hon, Hope you and Becky have a good time. I misplaced the car, but as soon as I find it, I'll let you know. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
  19. If you check previous post, you will find Larry carlson and hemi anderson and others have almost anything you need. You may want to have a European rallye with an owner in Zurich. Plus Desertsnake is a chrysler owner in Manneheim, And there is another Chrysler owner on Turbododge.com known as Swissdaytona in Zurich.
  20. I have to post 3 attachments seperately apparently. #2 attachment
  21. The attachments show how to use mitsu inlet to convert Garret TI to TII. Courtesy of turbododge.com

For each petal on a shamrock This brings a wish your way, Good health, good luck and happiness For Today and EVERYDAY!!!! May the road rise to meet you May the Wind be always at your back May the sun shine warm upon your face And May the rains fall soft upon your fields!
  23. Does this mean the $86,000 2004 Maserati I didn't buy last year is an orphan? <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
