  2. I am speechless. If I was ever to describe the ALF I wanted, this would be it. OK, my name is Tom Laferriere and my email will always be tom@tomlaferriere.com Make sure to write that down when you are ready to sell. Speechless...I'll even throw in the Packard for that baby!
  3. Lets keep this interesting. I am also open to 1914-15 Hudson 654 Touring like the one below. That is Carl Weber's car. I am 6' tall and that should give an idea on the size of that monster. 37" tires, 135+" WB. I am drooling!
  4. Hi Chris...I suggest you stay away, it could be an ALF replacement.

  6. You are killin me. No teasing! I will be heading to Hershey. I am staying in Lancaster and would like to see the car. Should I just drive the Auburn to your house? Tom

(Doesn't mean we're both not crazy, of course.) If you'd like to yak more about these things I'd love to hear back from you. Martyn G </div></div> Hi Martyn, I thought I was the only one. I got turned on by the ALFS when I went for a ride in one last year in Mich. We were hauling about 55MPH and the engine was barely working. I have been hooked since.
  8. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> Heck, I would settle for a ride in one someday before I die. </div></div> Anytime your in Rhode Island, let me know. It was my dream for an Auburn, but now that I have it, my dream has been fulfilled. Now I have a new dream!
  9. Hi Tom, Thanks for your kind comments about my car. It is fun and thats what its all about (IMHO). Tom
  10. I think there is something wrong with me. I want to trade my 1935 Auburn Boattail Speedster replica for an American Lafrance Speedster. Hyman has one, but its too "pretty", but I would except it, but trading the Auburn is not an option. I will be at Hershey so maybe I can find one there. Am I in fantasy land hoping to do this? Or should I just come to my senses? All comments welcome.
  11. Hello once again. The top mono block has been completely rebuilt. Bored, new pistons, valves, guides, springs, cracks repaired. Now its back to the mechanic for assembly. See my website for large, hi-res pics.
  12. Hello Folks, I was wondering if you could help indentify what years/cars this is for. Thank you for all your help. I bought it at a swap meet for decoration in the "man room", but thought someone out there might need it. Tom

  14. 37,000 miles with matching numbers 350 2bbl and Protecto-Plate to boot! Turbo 350 Trans. As original as it gets. Needs full restoration. Its way too much for me. Runs Excellent, strong, is quiet and drives. Car sat outside for over 20 years and was just brought back to life. The car appears to 100% complete, minus 2 hubcaps. All RS equipment is there and hooked up. Email me for more pictures. Car is located in Rhode Island. Please email me tom@tomlaferriere.com?subject=1969 Camaro listed on AACA
  15. My father asked me to help him sell his car. The car is located in Rhode Island and is currently registered and insured. Is has a small block V-8, automatic and is a nice driver. He has decided he wants a convertible 'something' of 50's/60's. The asking price is $12,500 He can be reached at alaferriere@ric.edu I have attached a pic. More are available
  16. I'm B A C K ! ! ! I fellow enthusist that read my last post turned me on to someone local that can help me out. The car is there now and the top monoblock is removed and apart. An inspection of the bottom was OK. He will rebuild the top mono-block and it should be ready within a couple of months. I'll keep you posted. Thanks to all that have put up with me complaining! Tom
  17. I only took one photo at the Greenwich Concours. Sorry

  19. Hi all. I want to thank everyone who has help me with this car. Your tips and help could not be valued! This will most likely be the last update for me. I ended getting the spark I needed. Cleaned points better and cleaned plugs. I got the big bi*ch running Monday night and continued to run it last night. I am pretty certain the engine needs to be rebuilt. Cylinder #4 cylinder has about 10% of the compression of the other 3. I did a valve job on that cylinder, but it didn't help. Cylinder #2 is always full of oil. There is no oil pressure on gauge and there is oil spitting out on the flywheel from somewhere. Not to mention that this thing is a huge smoker and that's after it cleared its throat. I am already over my head with this car and will be selling soon. I just don't have the skills and tools to do this and paying someone to do the whole job would be very costly I assume. I will be listing on Ebay within a few weeks once I get some good photos. Its running, but its too much for me. My own mistake I guess. Once I sell, I will be in the market again for a 7 passenger touring...one that runs and drives! :-) Tom Laferriere
