  1. Thanks, our 39 has the full chassis so i guess anything under 1 tonne will be fine. Does anyone have a tow bar / hitch on their 39 Buick and how well do they tow? does anyone have a picture of a 39 with a hitch / tow bar?
  2. hi, does anyone know of the "1939 Trailer Hitch Bulletin" we wish to tow a small Caravan (Trailer)and I need to know the towing capacity of a 1939 40 series and any other relevant information. My 1939 hand book tells to write to Buick and request the bulletin, I may not get a reply :-) Hope someone may be able to help
  3. It's bad enough when something that you have repaired yourself goes wrong, at least you can say, "I must have done something wrong or I forgot to put that bit back" But when you pay to have a job done and that happens, its makes you think twice who you let loose on your pride and joy. I am in the middle of changing my clutch, second time out with only 3000 miles on the clock, first time when I stripped the teeth off the ring gear and now to fix a slipping clutch. slipping because I forgot to put in the cork seal on the input shaft, overfilled the trans, put to much grease on the input shaft and finally, I soaked the throwout bearing in motor oil and forgot to let the excess oil drain out before reinstalling. anyway, a good learning exercise overall. Gave me something to do over winter here in Australia, but I better get it back together as the better weather is returning Rex Stubbs 1939 Buick 8/40 Holden Body Webmaster - Buick Car Club of Australia (Vic) Vice President - Buick Car Club of Australia (Vic)
