  1. These rumors could be put to bed with some open communication. It would also give the region and national the opportunity to inform the membership of the challenges of hosting an event this size. Information (facts) are only useful if shared. Dennis
  2. Bob, I’m with you. Having missed 20 due to COVID and 21 due to personal health issues it was fantastic just to be back. Rain be damned. Saw many friends and renewed some friendships. Found a few parts. (Not quite like it used to be) I (like many) worry about the sustainability of Hershey. Rumors are widespread about this event. Enough to warrant announcements over the PA at the event. Perhaps an article or some information in the magazine might help . It could also inform members of the incredible efforts that the region provides to host . I heard on the local news this morning, that the economic impact from this event is 50 m plus. That’s fantastic, but it can’t become the focus. Herco is an incredibly large organization and may always prevail but I think with certain negotiation skills and diplomacy they could come to recognize the importance of this event to the local economy. We have a large club with many skilled professionals.I’m sure ,some would help if requested. Thanks to the club and region for another great event. Respectfully Dennis

    Golf carts

I also witnessed golf carts in the car corral and the fields ride right past security with nothing said. No Peter, I don’t have video evidence or a formal report. If Hershey is to become the free for all then abolish the rules. If not, enforce them. I think that is the jest of this post. Frankly Peter I find your replies somewhat antagonistic. respectfully, Dennis
  4. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I’m still baffled by this issue. At 4 notches lean the car starts quickly and the choke will completely open in about 4 minutes. Still very little heat at the top of the stove pipe. I will live with this until winter and pull the intake. There is a simple solution and we will figure it out. Will report back. Thanks again Dennis
  5. Thanks guys, Screw refuses to be removed at this point. Still no heat. Is it possible that the two barrel intake has a system similar to the tri-power? I’ve never seen a plug in the side of the heat crossover in the intake and this is the screw that refuses to come out. If it has a tube that runs to the drivers side of the intake, I may find obstruction there. currently it acts as a blind hole. Thanks again, Dennis
  6. Bloo, I agree. I suppose it’s possible that the screw in the side of the intake has been installed at some time but it does not appear to be added. If removed,it would provide an inlet. I suppose it could have a hole in it to provide a “jet” for vacuum, To remove and investigate I will have to remove the valve cover and likely the intake. Thanks Dennis
  7. The port at the choke has good vacuum and the stove pipe is perfectly clean. Oldtech, I also question how this pulls hot air with vacuum. The hole for the stove pipe in the manifold is a blind hole. The screw(plug) comes in from the side at a right angle to the hole. If the hole was open on the bottom it would pull exhaust gasses from the crossover. Never had this issue and have never noticed the screw in the intake before. Thermostatic spring is tested and working fine, just not getting heat.
  8. Jon, It was clogged. I caught that during the rebuild and it is clean. Thanks, Dennis Also cleaned and vacuumed the hole in the intake
  9. Hello, 59 Pontiac 389 with Rochester 2GC carb. Will not pull heat to the choke housing from the stove pipe. Has good vacuum at the housing , coil spring is tested and good, crossover is plenty hot. I do notice a screw in the edge of the intake manifold that threads into the side of the hole where the stove pipe goes. Could this be a vacuum jet of some sort or simply a plug. Thanks for any help. Dennis Choke is set two notches lean and does not fully open when warm.

  14. The rule is two times tire diameter. 34 x 4 tires equates to 68 teeth. Dennis
  15. I could use this for my special six. Pm me with a price. Thanks, Dennis
  16. The two piece pump pulley moves in and out to adjust belt tension. Look for two bolts on the side of the pulley and you will see the ramp
  17. Hello all, Reading the forum and saw that Bhigdog had been helping Auburnseeker at the same time he was fabricating some parts for me. I know he helped others on these forums as well. At the risk of losing my go-to problem solver, I am nominating him for forum member of the week. It makes me value these forums even more. Thanks Bob Dennis
  18. Hello, The grill and hood sides on my 37 are back painted (inside the squares) . This color appears to be satin black or charcoal grey. Anybody have a color name or match to share? Thanks, Dennis
  19. Jared, All your answers and the puller that you need are right down the road. Dennis
  20. Lcv, Please post the love joy coupling info here if possible. Here it will be available in the future Thanks Dennis
  21. I haven’t worked on a 27. My newest big six is a 23. Unless there was a change, you have an oil distribution pipe that delivers oil to the timing gears. Pictures lie but it appears that they weren’t getting sufficient oil. Might want to check that pipe as well . We have seen them blocked. Dennis
  22. ak I have the original die cast glued back together for a pattern if others are needed. If I only need two, I think machined from aluminum may be the way to go. Very few of these retainers could have survived. I posted thinking this project had probably been done. Dennis
  23. Frank, Very unfortunate, but true. I usually don’t agree with that barn find crew. Dennis
  24. Steve, I have used the Eastwood product and tested it before spraying expensive product where I’ll never see again. The 360 nozzle worked good and the coating seemed it would do the trick. No O2. It’s a wax product.Clean as well as you can. I didn’t know 3M had a product available. Dennis
