  1. Thanks. This is a stamped number on the boss of the LH side of the block. Would the casting numbers help? Dennis
  2. Hello, Some may have seen my post in general discussion about the engines rescued from the scrap man. I thought I would post a question here about the Dodge Brothers engine. It is a 4 cylinder with engine number 779947. Any idea what year this is? Thanks, Dennis
  3. I couldn't help myself. We made another trip over and picked up the engines as they would have been scrapped this week, For those that have asked about the Dodge Bros., the engine number is 779947. Any thoughts what year this may be? Thanks, Dennis
  4. I was at the Zanesville, Ohio auction last weekend. Late Saturday they sold some loose engines on skids. It was nothing that I needed so I took a break from the sale. I later was told that the engines had been sold to a scrap metal dealer. Long story short, I was able to make contact with him and he agreed to sell the engines for $100 ea. I did not look at the engines because I initially had no interest but it would be shame to see them scrapped. The dodge brothers was a 4 cyl. with transmission and accessories if I recall. Anybody that was there know any more? The Pontiac was a split head six with no accessories ( starter, gen etc.) This engine had been disassembled but appeared to be in good condition. I'm just throwing this out to see if anyone needs these. I may be able to make arrangements to pick them up or would happily share contact info. via PM. Dennis

Steve, If you can get it enlarged and copied , I would also love to have a copy. Would be happy to compensate. Thanks, Dennis
  6. Hello, Looking for a couple of 1074 bulbs. These are 12v, prefocus bayonette base , dual contact. Anybody have any bulbs or a source. These are for 57 Cad fog/running lights. Thanks, Dennis
  7. Steve, I downloaded the brochure and it stated free auction passes and reduced pricing on the bidders pass. Which is correct? Thanks, Dennis
  8. I also use rustoleum satin black over their red oxide primer after a thorough cleaning. If you reduce these with acetone in lieu of mineral spirits it sprays like acrylic enamel and drys much faster. Dennis
  9. I have a 1920 Studebaker and a 17 Mitchell. I'm sticking with 1919 Stude special six. Exterior door handles and cowl lights were introduced in 1920. Disc wheels were optional. Dennis
  10. No exterior door handles or cowl lights visible in the picture. I'd guess 1919 Studebaker special six. Dennis
  11. Thanks guys, I plan to be there Wednesday afternoon through Friday. I'll do some more checking around in Norman and Ok city. Dennis
  12. Hello, We are condidering our first trip to the Chickasha meet. The closest motel accomodations that I can find are about twenty miles out. I did notice on their website that there is camping at the fairgrounds. They do not take reservations so I assume first come/first served. Does anyone know if this facility fills up and what is the approximate distance from the campground to the swap meet. Walking distance? All comments appreciated. Thanks, Dennis
  13. Apparently this car was created from the remnants of a parts car. The workmanship appears to be outstanding. I applaud the owner for this creation. That being said, based upon the AACA's own rules there is no justification for the awards! Dennis
  14. whtbaron, Thanks for looking and the pictures. Can't help with the generator/dist drive. I'll let you know if I find anything. Please do the same. Dennis
  15. Yes, That's the post. I'm not sure if that is exactly what should be on my car. That picture was for an earlier Cotinental. It would be a 3 port with one smaller, two the same size. I would like to see the picture when available. Thanks, Dennis
  16. Hello, Does this motor have a thermostat housing? There is a picture of one in the Graham Paige section of this forum (23 posts down). I beleive these were proprietary to Continental in the 20's. Looking for one for a 1925 Paige. Thanks, Dennis
  17. Russell, The club (WOKR willys overland knight registry) has reproduced these as well as the nuts for the head and the spaghetti seal. Very good quality. Dennis
  18. Hello, Helping a friend get his 34 40 series rumble seat coupe running and back on the road. I was wondering if a fuel tank was available. It looks like it may be fairly easy to fabricate if we have to but would like to buy one if available. I wonder if other GM brands may be the same? thanks, Dennis
  19. If your inner tank has a wide flange at the top (approx 1/4'') then two cork gaskets are required. If it has a very narrow flange only one gasket is necessary. If you have a wide flange and require two gaskets make sure your atmospheric vent on the outer tank lines up with the hole in the cast top before you tighten the six screws.
  20. Jon is correct about reversing in OD. Not a good thing at all. These switches were typically wired in series with the governor and provided the ground to the OD relay. All conditions must be met or OD would not engage regardless of cable position. A relatively simple harness. I would definitely correct this. Do you know what model OD? I may have wiring diagrams. Dennis My first car was a 52 Hornet. Sure would like to find another.
  21. Mark, Looks like a reverse lock-out. Opens the solenoid wiring when you put the car in reverse. Dennis
  22. Spikeman, Sent you a PM Dennis
