I was told by an AACA member that someone is reproducing the spare tyre locks for sidemounts. The original locks are pot metal and I am afraid if I unlock mine one more time they will fall into pieces. Supposedly thee reproduction locks are made of stainless steel.
An Essex, definately not a Franklin. Franklin also had full elliptic springs right to the end in 1934. The only Franklins without the full elliptics were the 33-34 Olympics and the V12s.
I say it is a 35 Ford Touring sedan. The number of stainless steel strips on the hood, the ends of the bumpers and the shape of front and rear fenders and it looks like it has wire wheels.
