  1. For all domestic cars, in 1937 the wing emblem on the grill did not have USA on it. For 1938 USA was added to the emblem. See attached pictures.
  2. RARE? Maybe so if you consider the popularity of coupes in stock car and dirt track racing in the 40's and 50's and demolition derby's. Plus many coupe owners moved up to 4 door cars after the war as the baby boomer generation took off. It would be interesting to see just how many of those 15,000 are really out there in the street rod and antique car hobbies. I dare say that the salvage yard inventory is probably minuscule as a result of the many spikes in the cost of scrap that we have experienced over the last several decades.
  3. There is a difference between the 37 and the 38 emergency brake set up. In 1938 the brake handle was moved from the floor to under the dash which required the emergency brake setup to be reversed. In 1937 the linkage is on the right side looking at it from the rear. In 1938 it was moved to the left. Easy way to tell which year the transmission is if the emergency brake is still attached to it.
  4. Question, the correct 38 wing nose emblem has USA on it at the bottom. How many of you have the USA emblem on your car?

  12. Pictures of the running boards produced by Hundley Acuff:
  13. I wonder if the Vaseline on a windshield wiper rubber would protect it from deterioration? They are slowly becoming expensive depending on the vehicle.
  14. Call George Asche at 814-354-2621. He rebuilds them and has a wealth of information about them. I am looking for a 39 for my car. I have a 37 De Soto that George rebuilt for me that I am going to put in my 38 Dodge if I can not find a 39.
  15. Just got back my rebuilt engine to add to my rebuilt overdrive and a new set of running boards. Can't wait to get them all installed on the car. I just hope I can put it all back together after so much time since I took the front end off the car. I did take pictures and bagged all the parts so I have my fingers crossed. George Asche out of Venus PA rebuilt the engine and overdrive and Hundley Acuff did the running boards. Both did excellent jobs. Has anyone purchased a new wiring harness for a coupe and have any recommendations?
  16. This might be what you are looking for on eBay, 181588141102.
  17. Steel Rubber may be able to help you. They may have the old dies or some in stock. Do not have contact info but check the internet.
  18. Still have have some AMC items left. Just a couple Cross pens and pencils left with the color AMC logo on them. Get them before they are all gone. Still have other items as well.
  19. Need to find a home for this D8 engine. Bought it as a back up but do not need it now. If you want a D8 stamped engine for your D8 car you can use this. Pictures upon request. Probably has 50,000 miles on it. Is partially broken down. Call or text 610-417-0998, email thedodgegarage@rcn.com. Price negotiable, hate to scrap it. Located in Eastern PA.
  20. For sale is a NOS radiator that I have had since the early seventies and was purchased by the previous owner in the 60's. Bought it as a spare for a car I had which is long gone. 1928 Chrysler 72. I have been lugging this thing around and it is now time to part with it. Ran water through it and it has no leaks. There is an overflow tube that will need to be touched up with solder where it comes through the tank at the bottom. Moving it around has weakened the joint. Other than that I saw no leakage anywhere else. Asking $1500. Call or text at 610-417-0998, email at thedodgegarage@rcn.com. Located in eastern PA, Bethlehem/Allentown area. TRIED TO ATTACH PICTURES BUT THEY WERE TAKEN WITH A iPHONE AND ARE TOO LARGE FOR THIS FORUM TO ACCEPT. CONTACT ME AND i WILL SEND YOU PICTURES.
