  1. Here is a hand-built 1/43 miniature by Durham Classics of Canada, a limited edition of 100 pieces built to commemorate the 1st International meet of the Airflow Club of America, set for July 9,10, 11th, 1998. This piece is #27 of 100. Durham Classics patterns are made "one to one" using simple metalworking tools, unlike mass-produced zinc diecast "collectors" models which are made from steel dies obtained by reducing a much larger master model using sophisticated die cutting equipment. Durham Classics models are designed, molded, cast, cleaned, painted and assembled in our own Canadian facilities together with the production of our whitewall tires, windows, decal work and boxes, etc. This exceptional, limited edition Airflow model was a popular one, but if you didn't order it in the prescribed time frame, you were out of luck, and would not receive one. This one has been in the original box since purchase, and is in like-new condition, and has a low edition number of 27, so if you always wanted this model, here's your chance to get a really pristine one. This one is $100 + shipping, a lot less than when it was issued. Thanks for looking!
  2. FOR SALEHere's an intake manifold removed from 1935 Desoto Airflow, part# 603032-2H. These were known to crack, but although this one looks good upon visual inspection. Probably a good idea to have it magnafluxed. I believe that this manifold can also be used on Airstream model, but you would have to double check part number. This one is $25 + shipping (it's about 15 lbs before it's packed, so it's heavy!) Good idea to have an extra one on hand. Please contact Bill at: brickyardstudios57@gmail.com
  3. FOR SALE Here's a nice, large canvas tote bag commemorating the 38th annual Airflow of America meet in Keene, NH. Never used, but slightly soiled from storage. $10 + shipping to your address. Please contact Bill: brickyardstudios57@gmail.com
  4. Limited Edition (1000) 11 x 14 Giclee fine art prints signed artist, by William Belisle. Choose from four different artworks: "Rare Survivers" "The Train Doesn't Stop Here Anymore" "Old" "A Touch Of Class" All prints are $20.00 (postage included) PayPal or money order only, please. Please contact Bill Belisle at: brickyardstudios57@gmail.com FOR SALE.... Unlike some poor quality lithos, the color and clarity of this print is unmatched, and an exact reproduction of the original, credited to the Giclee method of reproduction. As an artist, I wanted to create the very best quality print that was available, and after much investigation, I decided on the Giclee process, which is far superior to the 4 color litho process. The paper, which is 100% rag, is also 100% acid-free, and contains an alkaline buffer (such as calcium carbonate) that's added to neutralize the acid-forming chemicals in the atmosphere that can be absorbed by the paper. As the paper ages, the PH level will gradually drop, but the paper remains white and strong. The water-based inks used in this process are fade resistant to provide long-term lightfastness. It's said that these prints have an expected indoor display life of more than 100 years before noticeable fading occurs, so internally, these prints are made to last! This fine art print would be a great addition to your art or automobilia collection, or make a thoughtful gift for your favorite car guy! Thanks for looking.
  5. I take it that these Interstate Group 2 batteries are a larger diameter than Group 1. My Mack Bulldog battery must have been a group 2, as I had to build a larger battery box to hold the monster. I think the billdog battery cost me about $110 three or four years ago. That Interstate about the same, you figure?
  6. Thanks for the comments, guys I guess my next step is to pull the starter and have it rebuilt. The guy that did my generator is an old car guy, and I'll bring it to him. Then I'll spring for a new battery. I miss driving the old girl! It's a pretty rare car and deserves to be treated with respect, so I think I'll forget the 12 volt and install what's correct. Thanks again.
  7. Thanks for replys. I'm using the large cables, and the battery is a huge 6volt Mack truck "bulldog" battery, which used to have lots of cranking amps. I was hoping to get it running before I had to buy another battery, but it looks like this battery has had it, although by battery tester shows that it's still good, and it does still turn the motor over, however slow.
  8. First, hello to all! I'm new to this board, and hopefully someone here will share their knowledge pertaining to a problem that I have. I own a '35 DeSoto Airflow, and am having problems starting the car. I've installed a new coil, and have had the generator re-built, along with a new voltage regulator. New plugs, points and condenser, rotor and cap and wires have been replaced fairly recently. I'm getting a good spark at the plugs, and the rebuilt carb is pumping gas, but the motor refuses to turn over quick enough to start. The 6 volt battery is older, but still holds a charge, and before I purchase another, I had thoughts of installing a 12 battery with seperate starter button connected right to the starter just for starting purposes. This being a positive-ground system, I tried to connect the 12 volt battery with the positive grounded to the frame, and the neg. cable to the starter, but all that happens is the starter spins like crazy, but won't ingage the bendix to the flywheel. My starter is the type with the solenoid that sits right on top of the starter, so the only place that I can connect the neg. cable is to the solenoid terminal. The 6 volt solenoid is fine, because when I attempt to start the car using the starter button, the solenoid will engage the bendix spring and turn the moter over, however slow. I'm thinking that I can get away with using this 12 volt start for now rather than try to convert the whole system to 12 volt, which I don't really want to do. Even with a re-built starter, I'm thinking that this old girl will still have a problem starting, thus the reasoning for the 12 volt quick fix. Any suggestions as to what I can do to pull this off? Thanks in advance.
